I just finished watching the classic 90s cheese of Starship Troopers, and with a game coming up I was wondering if anyone knew of a scenario that simulates the whole incoming horde of bugs rushing an outnumbered force in a bunker? I tried searching but the results seem to be replicating Starship Troopers forces or comparing to Space Marines or whatever.

So anyways something like the outdated scenario from White Dwarf #222 where Praetorian Guard fight off wave after wave of Ork attackers (it was supposed to be like the movie Zulu!). Any ideas or links?

There was a scenario in the 4th ed rule book where one player would be the defender, and one would be the attacker. The defender could deploy all his troops, heavy support, and 1 HQ in a building in the middle of the table, and the attacker's forces walked on. The rest of the defender's army (anything you didn't deploy already, fast attack, elites) came on as reserves. I think it was called relief column or something. That game but with IG and Tyranids could more or less be that scene from the movie.

Now, if you were going for a book style scenario, then you'd just load up on badass terminators and let that be that.

I'd just build a fort (Prob 2'x2' in middle of board, put in imperial guard, and have loads of bugs only geared for cc rushing in with no upgrades.

in order to get over the walls the bugs have to roll under their str. so gaunts are s3 if i'm correct, so 50% chance for the unit to make it over.

and if they do make it over you give the defender a instant chance to fallback 2d6, roll a dice for eah guy s3 with their save and those that fail are assumed to have been quickly taken down by the bugs coming over the walls, rest fall back.

I like some of those ideas and may try to implement the whole wall climbing approach. So far we are tending towards a base at the end of a shortened table, say 18" long and 24" wide, with basically no terrain besides impassable and difficult stuff to filter the Tyranids down towards the base. We're going for a 2 wave approach with a chance for "dead" units to "heal up" and come back to help for the second wave. Any feedback on these potential forces?:
