I'm building a Renegades and heretics Servants of decay army and plan on equipping most of my militiamen with shotguns, there is one issue with this, the cadians on which I base my army do not come with shotguns and its a big issue as I'll need about 60 shotguns. So I'd like to see how you guys would model the shotguns or some good place to buy shotguns to equip my minis (I don't care about using non GW weapons).

Most people simply take a lasgun and clip the barrel off, leaving a stubbed end to the weapon. This serves as a good shotgun although Forge World produce an upgrade kit for Cadians which includes shotguns.

Looking for shotguns? I HIGHLY suggest you hold of doing anything for a week or two...

I hear a rumor on the wind that says some nice looking ones are about to come over the hills. Keep checking the News section over this timeframe.

You could cut up some bolters to make them little more shotgunnish.

I guess I'll keep checking the news for those nice shotguns although I have a good load of cadians to convert with shotguns so I better get started if I want to play 40k, I tried the lasgun mod but it doesn't really satisfy me but I will try GSing it a bit. I'd like my force to be ready pretty soon to play some games.

I used catachan las guns to make some. I cut the barrels off, and then glued a small tube that was about the width of the gun. Its a big ass barrel on the gun and looks like a single barrel shotgun. Pretty easy

Sorry I don't have a better pictures, but his is a simple conversion. Cut off a space marine scout shotgun at the wrists, then do the same with some IG arms and instant shotgun. You can get the bits online really cheap.

Hasslefree Miniatures makes a good looking shotgun for IG models, they call it CAD Gun #8. I bought a pile of them for my IG... when I get going on the project (hopefully thiscoming week) I can post a couple of pics of how they look on my Guardsmen.

My friend cut the anntena off the vox-caster, snipped it in half and made a double barrel shotgun from it it actually looks pretty good

60 might be prohibitive for this method since you need a flamer AND a lasgun for each shotgun, but I think they look great. Sadly I can't take credit (since I shamelessly stole the idea).

here are mine. Trim gun, strip of plastic and I used a small flat screw driver to "punch" an ejection port.

Its good to be in the "IN" crowd.

The Maxmini Shotguns are pretty awesome ill wait for them for the majority of army but I did some lasgun conversions and they do look like shotguns.
