Eh, I'd like to say I'd confront the situation but the most I'd do would be to call 911 as long as I'm out of sight. Who knows if the people hanging around were gang affiliates themselves but it doesn't seem that unlikely. Even if I had a firearm I wouldn't raise it in such an outnumbered and hostile situation; gangs likely have a few guys watching for cops and the like.
But this article just proves the concept of diffusion of responsibility and the bystander effect that anyone whose taken Psych 101 has heard about. You'll find that its human nature to act like the article in the OP; as unfortunate and ****ty as it is.

I think the ones who watched and laughed and supposedly might have snapped pics or video are just as bad as the ones who participated directly.
I hope they figure out who the watchers/hecklers were and nail their asses to the wall.

Unlikely they will. Cali's justice system sucks. They might get just 10 years. I live like a couple of miles from there.

I never stated that I hated humans, just that I have lost faith in the morality of humanity. Are there a few exceptions? Of course there are, in all things there are some that are different. Besides these few bright lights in a dark room, there is very little to have hope for.
If humans were gone? I'd miss you, and HBMC vs JHDD battle royales. My life isn't complete without that.
Well Ork consider this were the only animal that kills for the hell of it. All others are carnivores that kill to eat. Or herbivores kill when provoked.

Our perception of ourselves, plays a role in the fact that practically nothing is going to be done about this. This girl's family, should be moved to a different city, if they choose to. Richmond is a tough city, and frankly, that played a pretty big role in something like this occurring. Richmond High, has always been a pretty nasty place, and the main reason that this has made headlines, was because it was blatantly obvious.
In a weeks time, none of the viewers of this, will give two gaks about this girl, just like they didn't give two gaks before this happened.
Another thing, I find it ridiculous that someone would be more surprised that someone did something. If I were a friend of this chick, something would have been done about it for diggity-goddam sure. Hand, Brick, Head, simple as fething pie man... brain pie that is. The most fethed up part, is that if someone had actually gotten up, and started busting skulls, they would have been painted as a madman by the majority of the people that heard the story. The person that does that, is not a madman, you are just a sniveling coward.
There is truth to what the staff said, regardless of it's callousness. Obviously, this does not relieve them from responsibility. One thing that struck me as odd, is the fact that the girl supposedly went out from the dance, at 9:30 to get picked up. At what point is a parent supposed to get worried that there kid is not there to meet them. Most 15 year old kids, are simply not allowed to stay out until midnight, especially in a city like Richmond.

As long as the bastards are dead, morals make no difference to me. People like to embellish on what they think is right and wrong, and when someone is murdered this is always the case. If you walk up to a pack of people that are gang-raping a girl, and start going apeshit on the biggest ones, ultimately killing at least one by default, you still just killed a person; your morals make no difference whatsoever when it comes down to the reality of it.
