I read it because a friend recommended it. I enjoyed it and found it to be a very good read.

I'm reading it, but it seems a very slow read to me, I'm only half way through at the moment.

A cool read, but it doesn't really apply all that much anymore. Suppose it would be a good primer if you end up finding yourself in the sequel to "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court" though.

Victorious warriors win first and then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win. -- Sun-tzu
The art of war is simple enough. Find out where your enemy is. Get at him as soon as you can. Strike him as hard as you can, and keep moving on. -- Ulysses S. Grant

The Art of War is a book that has never aged. Its advice can be applied to many conflict situations. It really is the Bible of warfare. I've never read it 'cover to cover' but it's a great book to dip into.
If equally matched, we can offer battle;
if slightly inferior in numbers, we can avoid the enemy;
if quite unequal in every way, we can flee from him.
He who questions training only trains himself at asking questions.

If equally matched, we can offer battle;
****sounds like a meatgrinder
if slightly inferior in numbers, we can avoid the enemy;
****Don't tell Alexander the Great that, or McArthur, or Schwarzkopf, or Bob from Accounting
if quite unequal in every way, we can flee from him.
