I am going to be playing a 5000 pt apoc game versus 2500 orks and 2500 imperial guard. I am looking at using 3 formations, the monolith phalanyx, the stormcaller, and the ressurection one. then throwing in the nightbringer and some destroyer units. Any other suggestions my fear is the IG is going to hammer me and the orks are going to keep me from getting to the IG tanks sitting in the back.

Deepstrike the Monos. Causes a lot of problems for any army in Apocalypse. That stormcaller formation is the wraiths with 2+ inv. I beleive. Use it, it is awesome. 3 or 4 wraith squads hitting any boyz unit will make it disappear, and the will be reluctant to charge. Just keep away from mystics if he has them when deepstriking monoliths. Warriors are only useful if there is a titan they can glance up. I guess they can take objectives but a large block of 20 coming out of a deepstriking mono can cause issues in an armies back lines, especially if its guard and you can march into melee to "hide" from fire. Hope the game is fun.

Well the thing is at 5000 points I would assume you would be playing with your whole collection? Perhaps an idea of what models you have and we can go from there. My only generic advice would be take as many Monoliths as you can and put 3 Pylons on the board(if you have any).
