Does anyone know if on the FW Tempest kit the assault cannon is a seperate piece? I want to switch the assault cannon for a heavy bolter to use them as Typhoons and am trying to figure out how much work that conversion will be.

Been a while since I assembled my 3 but as I remember it does come seperately.

You should only need to cut down the heavy bolter and attach to the gun port.

Yeah you can. But man...I would rather use them as the tempest.

The tempest kit is 'extremely' easy to swap the front gun out. The assault cannon is not even a full sized gun, its just the barrels, so easily can stick the front section of a Heavy Bolter in it to make it a typhoon.

Even better is to magnetize the bitz so you can use both.

Thank you all. I'm gonna go with the magnetizing. That way I can use them as Typhoons in lower point games/tournaments (because they still look cool) and Tempests in APOC.
