Pulsating Possessed Chaos Marine

I've got a question for any Iyanden.. or imperial fists.. or anyone who paints yellow in general. Im trying to paint up an iyanden force.. well, to start with, im playing around with an aurtarch model i have. From white primer, i paint a thin layer of 1:1 water:bubonic brown. Then from there i try to layer up with Sunburst yellow. The problem with the yellow though, on its own, it seems too watery. When i try to water it down, and paint with it, i have no brush controll, and it decides to pool along cracks and towards the edges of the armor plates, instead of covering them. And it's no better when i try NOT watering them down. When i get some batteries, i can take a quick picture of how it stands as it is now.

If it's a GW paint and it's watery try shaking it to mix the pigment back with the rest of it.

You should use iyanden darksun (clue in the name) this is a gw paint and after base coating it in that you just wash it with gyrophone? serpia another gw one. And then you could highlight with iyanden again.

Similar to what was mentioned above is a method I use for my Blood Angels (with Red, but should work with anything):
- Prime white
- Base in Iyanden Darksun (I use Mechrite Red)
- Wash with Gryphonne Sepia (I use Badab Black)
- Paint a 50/50 mix of Iyanden Darksun and Sunburst Yellow onto the raised armour plates, letting the Sepia show through the recesses. (I use a 50/50 mix of Mechrite Red and Blood Red).
If it's too dull, try adding more Sunburst to the final coat, or highlighting edges with pure Sunburst Yellow. This method will look very dark at first, but the final coat should help. The consistency of the Iyanden Darksun foundation paint will help the mixed Sunburst yellow settle and spread more cleanly.
