^ +1 to maelstrom.
Quick delivery, cheap prices, good contact, reliable store.

Just make sure what you order is in stock, they seem to have a few issues refilling theirs. I put in an order almost a month ago involving (amongst other things) two out of stock items and still haven't even sent off the order

Maybe it's GW though... when it doubt, just blame them!

All of the above.

I only use the GW website to determine how much I will save by not using it and instead buying their stuff elsewhere.

If you want Elves, or are considering Undead or Dwarves in the near future I'd consider buying Mantic Games models. You can get them from Wayland, Maelstrom and other places or direct from http://www.manticgames.com/ At 80p or (much) less per model for multipart plastic figures they are well worth considering.

Mantic is run by Ronnie Renton who was a big cheese with GW until he left a year or so back, and has learned a lot about improving on GW's offer.

If you are wanting to "stick it to da man" then the only thing you can really do is not buy new GW models at all, as GW make even more profit by selling via a reseller as they still get full wholesale value, but suffer none of the selling costs, which are borne by the reseller.

Other alternative models to GW's can be perused at http://marbles.frothersunite.com/index.html It's a little out of date, but its a good place to start.

If you have a local (non-GW) store do try and support them. yeah we all like intarweb discounts but without local shops there's no where to meet gamers or recruit new ones.

Well, you could go down the route I took... I hate playing in "stores", GW, indie or otherwise. So I set up my own "club". A couple of posters in local shops was all it took and now I've had gaming every Thursday night for the last 3 years. And I live in a little village in the arse-end of nowhere. If you live in a city you'll be fighting them of with a stick.

Seriously there's nothing any store has to offer me other than the chance to see models "in the flesh" before I buy. Why the heck would that be worth 20% extra on cost to me?

Still, if you need somewhere to play and can't set up or find a local club for whatever reason, sure, pay the man his due...

I placed an order on the 1st for two things of paint and the fantasy basing kit, all of which was 'In Stock!' when I ordered it.. still waiting for it to ship.

Also, is it normal to not get any sort of Order Receipt E-mail?

Maelstrom is pretty great, I've ordered a few things from them now and the service is good, pretty fast postage too considering I'm pretty much as far from the UK as you can be.

Took one order 6 days to get to me in NZ!

Although I have to agree about the stock issues they have, I've got another order thats still sitting there waiting for stock to come in.

But all in all I'd rather have the savings and wait a bit longer to get my stuff.

Maelstrom was the only place that could get me Dark Eldar at a good discount.

Less then $150 for 7 new raiders shipped to the US? Hell Yeah!

If you have a GOOD FLGS I say support them. I buy all my paint and a model or two every now and then from my FLGS.

Australia, mate

It has been said a lot, but Maelstrom is just fantastic, particularly as an Australian.

GW Au price for Leman Russ Demolisher Kit: $83AUD

Maelstrom price for Leman Russ Demolisher Kit: $47.07 AUD after currency conversion.

That's about 43% off.

I think that the Cybertronic Chasseurs make excellent Space Marines. I say why not mix it up and include some in your army?

If you want to hear more about the way I've used these in games of 40K, feel free to PM me.

Great site, I've used them a few times. Delivery usually only takes a couple of days at the most, and there's a decent supply of stuck usually. Generally it's about 20% off GW prices.

It's been said already - Maelstrom games. I virtually never order from anywhere else.

In our group Maelstrom is considered to be our FLGS, even though it's on the opposite side of the planet.

I just checked them out and I have to say I really like their elf models. Their scout troops look much better than GW Shadow Warriors. Too bad they don't seem to have any shipping policy, so I have no idea how much they'd actually cost me. If somebody from Mantic is looking at this POST YOUR BLEEDING SHIPPING RATES.

For what it's worth, I'll be making my next order from www.bitkingdom.com. The prices look great, and in speaking briefly with Nate he seems like a stand-up guy.

In the past though, I've found some great values on Amazon.
