Hello,

With much glee and happiness, I finished my Pathfinders yesterday. This was my second squad as the first was destroyed by my cat. Do not ask me why she destroyed the first squad, I have no idea. But to be honest, I like this squad a lot better than the first one. I used the plastic firewarrior figures as I do not like the metal figures. What I really like is that I finally found a use for all the tank commander arms that I had. They are the markerlights for the pathfinders. If I had to make them again, I would probably not put the firewarrior shoulder pads on them, but I am not doing another squad. Going with my army color scheme, the main colors are Shadow Grey, Space Wolf Grey, and Liche Purple. The Fast Attack color is Enchanted Blue and babal black is the wash. Also the Shas'ui has some Golden Yellow to show his command status.

As for the pathfinder's devilfish, it is a normal fish with SMS and a turret mounted burst cannon. I did this because it looks cool and makes it different from the normal troop fishes. Also the command accessory acts as the marker beacon. In games I do not count the burst cannon as turret mounted and give it the normal 180 arc of fire.

The reason for the glee and joy/happiness is because all I need to do to complete the army is to paint some wargs who are acting as kroot hounds and buy assemble and paint three forgeworld broadsides, which I will be ordering this month.

Here are the pictures I hope ya'll enjoy them.

Nice work, and the idea of the markerlights is brilliant. but, i personally dislike the color you gave them. But that's your choice =)

Pictures are a bit too blurry, but from what I can tell its a decent paint scheme. The Tau Hammerhead is the one tank I am really avoiding to paint myself, with my choice of colours it makes it hard to know where to start but your choice of colours suit it very well, even reminds me of a anime/manga film I watched, PatLabour perhaps?

nice work, but if your able to post some sharper images that would be great

Nice work though.

Looks good.

I would recommend (if you haven't already... it's difficult to tell from the pics) running a wash over the feet and 'markerlights' to make them look a little less like they've been undercoated but not painted yet.

I think having the entire squad holding the binocs looks a little odd, as well. A couple scattered through holding their weapons instead would have helped give the squad a slightly more varied appearance.

I would also second your idea of leaving off the shoulder pad. Would help differentiate them from Firewarriors a little more.

And, of course, the bases need some attention...

I like the scheme, though. It's good to see Tau in darker colours from time to time.

@ insaniak: I have done a wash over the figures, so I will take another look at them to see if I need to do another, and thanks for the comments. Also I can see where having them all looking through the binocs does look a bit, odd, but oh well, I am pretty happy with the squad.
Last to answer your last notice, bases will dealt with when I get my kroot hounds (which are Lord of the Ring Wargs) and my forgeworld broadsides built and painted. I am not sure what the bases will be though. I am thinking some grass for most of them.

Also as general notice some better pictures are up in my gallery.
