I went to a posting about a unbeatable 2500 pt Marine army. The poster began to insult All dakkers. Then went personal about the Moms of the people who replied. One of his rants was that No Dakker has ever won a RT turnament. Has anyone won a RT(or placed) Turnament or a GW turny, ect.
If so, What army did you/they use? Would you share your army list with us?

The hell is a Dakker?
I kid. There are plenty of tournament winners here, but also a fair few people who are completely up their own arses.
|
People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made. |

Well, we don't have RTs or GTs.
So that part is accurate for aussies.
Winning a miniatures tournament is not something I need to do to validate my existence and ego, though.

Its not also about "ego".. Being passive aggressive against tournament winners is like protecting an ego :p
Personally I just do them for prizes.. about 7000 free points in 2 years thanks to GW 'ard boyz and other tournaments
I dont even like tournaments very much.. I prefer fun relaxed casual games

#1. There is no such thing as an unbeatable army.
#2. I think dakkers=Dakka posters?
#3. I do not care about what people say about my mom. At my old job I had a saying, "You can say whatever you want to about my mother, but there is only one thing that you are not allowed to say...that you are not going to pay!"
#4. What site is this that you speak of?
One of his rants was that No Dakker has ever won a RT turnament. Has anyone won a RT(or placed) Turnament or a GW turny, ect.
#5. RT turnament= RTT (Rogue Trader Tournament)
If that is the case, then there are countless Dakka members that have won them, as well as having many GT winners posting here.
If so, What army did you/they use? Would you share your army list with us?
You can find the info all over. Check the battle report forum for some of them.

I've had plenty of success in tournies when I get the chance to go(college, funds, etc). The thing is though I know several really good players who can't go to these events due to having families or lack of close tournaments. As far as GT or GW stuff, I can't get enough time to go. Really can't tell my college oh by the way I need this time off to go play with my little plastic men to justify my skills to an online guy who is full of bs.

Yea there really is no such thing as an unbeatable army build. There is however, incredibly hard to beat builds, depending on what you play. Im sure this guy you know has a pretty solid SM build, might even be really badass against say, Orks for example, but as soon as someone comes by with the right counter for his build, he will be man handled. Thats just the way it goes.

It was a thread in Army lists. The guy posted an awful SM 2.5K list and got pissed when he was informed of the fact. "Nothing is unbeatable" thirded.

Iron_Chaos_Brute has seen the posting. It was the first"troll" I have encountered. He was rude/offensive to other posters. I was not involved but I wanted to pay him a visit.(I am not making a threat). I have never encountered a group, so mean and personal as them. The Dakka staff closed the discussion.
He just brought the question? about winning armies.
What is a gereric turnament army list like. Having a list that is designed for a single faction is useless. People who win turnaments have a good army mix to go up aginst all faction and builds. Yes, knowing All the rules is real important.

A tournament list, otherwise known as an "all-comers" list, is basically all I use, even in "casual" play. It has weaknesses and strengths depending on what type of build you go for to complement your playstyle. A good list also has the tools to deal with many other top-tier armies. However, it is important to know what "matchups" (games against other codices/builds) are good and bad. My CSM (the list I posted) do really well against Orks, Nids and Tau, have pretty balanced games against other PA stuff and most Eldar/ DE builds, and get smashed by most good Guard builds.

I won so many RTTs in the recent years that I stopped counting them.
