How farfetched is it that a company or 100 marines are exiled from a chapter? I do not mean turn traitor but casted away for something disgraceful

Not that farfetched at all.
They may have failed a mission or have been unable to uphold some sort of vow. The Captain may have inadvertedly insulted or openly questioned the compentency of the Chapter Master. There are a innumerable amount of reasons. Many which would result in death, but exile (or being sent on a redeeming crusade) would be a feasible punishment.
Your marines (being ill-supplied) would not have that many scouts and would probably look a little ragged.
Sounds like a good idea though!

Ah, if it's the Blood Angels that can open up even MORE possibilities. Perhaps while protecting a Hive City they went into a rage? Killing all on both sides? Or perhaps for some reason the Black Rage seems to be having a faster effect on them and they are made to go on the most sucidal of missions so that they die with their sanity intact.
The exile could be self-inflicted. It's sounds very interesting.

Heretic....
But seriously, if you read Heroes of the Spezh Mehreenz (Hurr hurr), there's a company (100 marines-so I think this fits you exactly). Which have been sent on a suicide mission because they ran away from an enemy, due to the fact that they couldn't stop them and that they thought there talents would be btter used if they survived. Sadly, the caplains didn't agree and they were sent of a pentinent crusade. They turned renegade in the end though, and their renegade captian said something awesome when he was asked why they should continue to follow him, when he was no longer their captain (because they waz all renegadess). Here's what he said.
"Take your shot, but make sure it counts. Otherwise it will be your last".
Awesome right?!

"And what are the achievements of your fragile Imperium? It is a corpse rotting slowly from within while maggots writhe in its belly. It was built with the toil of heroes and giants, and now it is inhabited by frightened weaklings to whom the glories of those times are half-forgotten legends." |

I don't understand why they would exile space marines at all.
In the Ultra Marines book the main character is exiled from his chapter with all of his weapons and armor.
"We've spent a fortune training and equipping you. You are among the most deadly warriors in the galaxy. You've pissed us off though so we are banishing you from the chapter. Have a nice life and pleeease don't turn to Chaos to get revenge and whatever else you want."
That'll work
Just sayin...
But a pentinent crusade would be an awesome idea.

It basically is intended to be the same thing.
The exiled will go on a pentinent crusade more for their own sake, as they may never be allowed back for whatever disgrace it was.
