I personally will never buy another console game. Too much micromanagement. I'm not sufficiently insanely dedicated to video gaming. I look forward to the rumored developments in neural interface technology. If all you have to do is put a thing on your head and become your character or whatever, that would be awesome. I would probably still suck at the games, but I wouldn't care. I still remember that Eureka!!! moment when I got all of the control options set just right for Mechwarrior 2 so I could play it entirely with the mouse and joystick. And games like Masters of Magic and Civ 2 where all you needed was the mouse.

PC gaming is not dead and won't be for a while. Could people please stop asking this every week. It would make life on forums much more enjoyable.
(although the browser title says that this a hopeless cause: 'Reply to PC gaming dead?| Don't bother, we've got a Holo-field')

If PC gaming dies, it will take every other form of videogaming with it. PC gaming is the foundation of videogames.
PC gaming is stronger then ever, especially with countries like China emerging into the gaming scene. Likewise, in Europe, PC gaming is also incredibly popular.
Not to mention that PC games generally don't have to sell nearly as many copies to make a considerable profit.

I have an Xbox 360, a PS3 and my PC. Both consols were gifts and are only ever used for Guitar hero/ rock band and watching Blu-ray dvds. My PC is only platform i game on.
I prefer the reactin and the controls, and because of the 3 monitors i can watch a movie play a game and keep an eye on my downloads/anything else i have running all at the same time.

Agreed, after they sold out to Comcast in 2005 and canceled great shows like SS ( really all I watched there) any credibility they once had is gone.

Hasn't this been the argument for years?
I think that the advancement of online play for consoles has shrunk the gap between what type of game plays best online, I still think certain games play better on either PC or console.
RTS I feel play WAAAY better on PC than console. FPS, that's harder for me because I play FPS on console and haven't played on on PC since Counterstrike.
Is PC gaming dead? Nah.

aside from certain types of games that are better on console than pc like button mashers and sports, consoles are for kids who dont know any better.

Shooters are still better on PC's, the short-lived proof of this was that Shadow-something-something game that allowed 360 players to play against PC players. A lot of whining ensued because PC players had better controls (MOUSE) for aiming, which resulted in the devs trying to penalize the PC players until giving up at long last.
