40 players showed up this year for our annual tournament which is fantastic! Anywho here's some pics of my necron experience at the tournament!
I apologize, the reports, pictures and more pictures or videos will be rather brief and vague as after my second game I was lifted out in an ambulance and missed aprox 4 games and painting competition ( I really missed that because then I can take pictures of everyone's armies.)
Lord w/ gaze of flame, solar pulse, res orb
5 squads of 10 Warriors
2 squads of 3 Destroyers
2 Monoliths
For future? I would probably get a third Monolith to increase the teleport rapid firing I can do per turn. I would consider adding Immortals. My Destroyers really failed me this tournament as my list is really built around warriors and liths. Anywho...
Game #1
his deployment
Here was my deployment (although this was turn 3 or 4 as I lost a lith and the other one moved way up)
Here in my first game the player was playing a beatiful painted blood angels army as ravenwing, I could be corrected on the army name, the chapter that has a special character that gives jump packs fleet. When I looked across the board I thought he was going to rush in and try to phase me out, so I deployed my Monoliths to counter this. He instead played a rather shooting game, out ranging me. So this was an awful mistake, I should always deep strike my monoliths!!!
So for about 4 turns we really just did nothing moving up the monoliths then ending the turn bascially. Oh and he shot down a monolith on the first turn with a lascannon predator.
Around the 4th turn my Monolith finally got close enough, although it got immobilized. So I teleported through several warrior squads over the next two turns and rapid fired the hell out of the dreadnaughts, making one lose it's powerfist while the other got destroyed from rear shots from a destroyer squadron. My opponent was mad he had forgotten to use smoke launchers as he can't assault on the turn he drop pod'd. hehe.
However he jumped his two jump infantry squadrons in, fleet'd them in the shooting phase and just came up short on turn 5 I think? So on turn 6 my monolith dropped a direct hit killing a special character, 7 jump infantry, and another 4 jump infantry. The stragglers charge in and so does the unpowerfisted dreadnaught, but it is too late. Necrons take a minor victory.
Game #2
To my suprise I had the pleasure of facing a hand to hand combat imperial guard army.
My 50 Necrons here and 2 Monoliths, had over 9000 glances on his vehicles. I kid you not, it was just ridiculous, like all of them were immobilized and weapon destroyed. His troops however made it to my base untouched as my list can't really deal with mech. They popped out and multi assaulted me with like 5 units together (ogryns are inside the building I believe you wont see them on the pics) on the same turn.
After being sweeped with my squads, a couple of them came back to join another squad. When I saw all those troops there I had two options, rapid fire last stand and get the cover bonus for hand to hand combat, or be a little less brave and teleport the hell out of there! I choose the second option

, I tried to go for his objective with my teleported units and they contested along with the monolith. However my objective was wiped out and overrun. my second monolith tried to get there to contest it but was too late and I could not reach it in time. I lost 0-1 on objectives. Necrons take a minor loss.
Secondary mission; cut the head off the snake (kill enemy leader while yours survives), resulted in a draw (hence the minor victory) as we both had our heroes alive.
So hopefully next time I wont have a medical emergency and I can bring you guys better pics and reports.
