40 players showed up this year for our annual tournament which is fantastic! Anywho here's some pics of my necron experience at the tournament!

I apologize, the reports, pictures and more pictures or videos will be rather brief and vague as after my second game I was lifted out in an ambulance and missed aprox 4 games and painting competition ( I really missed that because then I can take pictures of everyone's armies.)

Lord w/ gaze of flame, solar pulse, res orb
5 squads of 10 Warriors
2 squads of 3 Destroyers
2 Monoliths

For future? I would probably get a third Monolith to increase the teleport rapid firing I can do per turn. I would consider adding Immortals. My Destroyers really failed me this tournament as my list is really built around warriors and liths. Anywho...

Game #1

his deployment

Here was my deployment (although this was turn 3 or 4 as I lost a lith and the other one moved way up)

Here in my first game the player was playing a beatiful painted blood angels army as ravenwing, I could be corrected on the army name, the chapter that has a special character that gives jump packs fleet. When I looked across the board I thought he was going to rush in and try to phase me out, so I deployed my Monoliths to counter this. He instead played a rather shooting game, out ranging me. So this was an awful mistake, I should always deep strike my monoliths!!!

So for about 4 turns we really just did nothing moving up the monoliths then ending the turn bascially. Oh and he shot down a monolith on the first turn with a lascannon predator.

Around the 4th turn my Monolith finally got close enough, although it got immobilized. So I teleported through several warrior squads over the next two turns and rapid fired the hell out of the dreadnaughts, making one lose it's powerfist while the other got destroyed from rear shots from a destroyer squadron. My opponent was mad he had forgotten to use smoke launchers as he can't assault on the turn he drop pod'd. hehe.

However he jumped his two jump infantry squadrons in, fleet'd them in the shooting phase and just came up short on turn 5 I think? So on turn 6 my monolith dropped a direct hit killing a special character, 7 jump infantry, and another 4 jump infantry. The stragglers charge in and so does the unpowerfisted dreadnaught, but it is too late. Necrons take a minor victory.

Game #2

To my suprise I had the pleasure of facing a hand to hand combat imperial guard army.

My 50 Necrons here and 2 Monoliths, had over 9000 glances on his vehicles. I kid you not, it was just ridiculous, like all of them were immobilized and weapon destroyed. His troops however made it to my base untouched as my list can't really deal with mech. They popped out and multi assaulted me with like 5 units together (ogryns are inside the building I believe you wont see them on the pics) on the same turn.

After being sweeped with my squads, a couple of them came back to join another squad. When I saw all those troops there I had two options, rapid fire last stand and get the cover bonus for hand to hand combat, or be a little less brave and teleport the hell out of there! I choose the second option , I tried to go for his objective with my teleported units and they contested along with the monolith. However my objective was wiped out and overrun. my second monolith tried to get there to contest it but was too late and I could not reach it in time. I lost 0-1 on objectives. Necrons take a minor loss.

Secondary mission; cut the head off the snake (kill enemy leader while yours survives), resulted in a draw (hence the minor victory) as we both had our heroes alive.

So hopefully next time I wont have a medical emergency and I can bring you guys better pics and reports.

Ah hey cal didn't notice you put up a posting on this. I'm envious that you got to play hand to hand gaurd. One of the army's I wanted to play against.

And congrats on the game against dirk. DIdnt look liek it was going well for you and its good to see you pulled out a minor win. You probly have as many points as I amassed in those two games as I totally bombed the tourney. lol but what can you do about it.

And ya I was pretty worried. Ran upstairs to check my army books during the quiz. Came down and saw what happened. Just glad your ok. Or well as ok as can be I guess XD. Don't know much more about the whole thing other then they brought you to the hospital. Ah well better luck next time.

Oh and dirk beat me out of best painted mini by I think 1 or 2 votes. Though he did vote for me so im happy about that ^ ^

Still planning on coming to the fantasy tourny?

haha guess your nerd raging over my possible vote? XD

Yeah that game against the guard was really really fun.

Yeah I had a Seizure because of epilepsy, I cant go to work for another 3 weeks and I can't legally drive for 6 months lol. It's easily controlled by medication though.

I could see Dirk being the best painted, his vehicles were nice and what not. Was he that golden demon winner you were talking about? That sucks, oh but who won best painted model? if they still did that.

Hmm if I can make enough points for the fantasy tournament I would like to. I seem to have a losing record with HE, but I think it's because of the low points. Once I get better and more units I can play better I think.

Ah dude that sucks about the epilepsy. Its good the medication can help you with it. Was it triggerd due to stress or something?

And well dirk didnt get best painted army lol he got best painted mini. Best painted army went to the orcs with the squiggoth I think.

And yha youl do much better at 2k instead of 1k. More points means you can have alot more units and combos and the such.

I'm not sure why it was triggered just that it happened.

Oh I see, that guy was kinda funny he was saying they made the squiggoth anatomically correct, and that it's a boy.

Yeah I would like to play a 2k or higher fantasy game as it would be a lot better than getting facerolled with only a few units lol. I really wanna play Dragon Princes and Pheonix Guard and whatnot, they look like a lot of fun. I'll be there.

hmm... if he actually "swept you" (not just beat you) in CC your crons woulda been removed!

Anyways, I think your list needs to be a bit more robust. A squad of Immortals in there would have done wonders! And maybe some heavy destroyers (mobile lascannons are never a bad thing)

Actually that rule question has come up in many games. If the models are destroyed in a sweep, they do not get WBB, if they die before the sweep or die, and then others die in a sweep, whoever was killed before the sweep still gets WBB. And yes I am very interested in adding some immortals I think.

Thanks, Khedyarl.

I would have liked to have finished the tournament though as I was getting some fresh experience with my new Necrons and was liking the feel of them. I'll be there next year with my Crons!!!

The pictures might not be telling the whole story, but terrain looked a little sparse...

There was a lot of people so I think they ended up using all the terrain the had to fill the tables, I would agree it seemed a little sparse.
