Is Ghazghkull worth his points? Any tips on using him effectively would be helpful too!

A true ork would take Ghaz. He is a menace in CC. Tips in using him would be: get him to the front line ASAP.
However i prefer some of the other characters over Ghaz, but that is personal preference and they fit into my army better, so yes Ghaz is good.

If he fits your army list and you're playing a high enough point level, then certainly. He's a beast, and his army wide effects are great.

He is a nightmare to kill, and a beast in CC. but getting to the front lines in a chore. His point cost cuts him out of small games, I wouldn't suggest him in a 1000 point list unless you have lots of infantry so they can benifit fully from his special Whaaaaaaaagh!

If you're building an assault based list, Ghazghkull is priceless. The smallest game I'd take him in is 1,250.
As for tips for using him....why don't you head over to the army list section of the boards where I play and read some of the Ork army lists and critiques that have been written.

If nothing else Gaz is completly and uterly awsome, he is nigh unkillable, so if you play a very prideful oppenent then he might prove to be well worth his points in laughs.

Things I use Ghazghkull for:
1. Assaulting terminator units by himself to wipe them out.
2. Creating a 27" assault range profile for my entire army.
3. Assaulting monstrous creatures; multi-assaulting monstrous creatures whenever possible.
4. Making my whole army fearless for a full turn of combat (usually the turn my entire army assaults).
5. Justification for screaming, "Waaaugh!" out loud in the store.
6. Breaking land raiders in half over his knee.
Ghazghkull Thraka is the Chuck Norris of Warhammer 40k.
