I saw these while watching Fuse the other day, and knowing the large metal head population on dakka,
thought I'd share it with you.

I never really considered Jimi Hendrix to be heavy metal, but I did think of him as a precursor to it.

And it's kind funny to hear from Dio about how he got the Devil Horn idea.

Also, sorry about the subtitles in the second one. it was the only good version I could find, so you'll have to deal with it.

I was once in a warehouse full of silver and gold no bs. There were pallets of silver bars, as bright and shining as your mind's eye would think they should be.

-"Wait a minute.....who is that Frazz is talking to in the gallery? Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG
-"Don't mind Frazzled. He's just Dakka's crazy old dude locked in the attic. He's harmless. Mostly."

There are four films that will teach you everything you need to know about Heavy Metal.

1. Heavy Metal (dir. Gerald Potterton, 1981)
2. This Is Spinal Tap (dir. Rob Reiner, 1984)
3. The Decline and Fall of Western Civilisation part II: The Metal Years. (dir. Penelope Spheeris, 1988)
4. Wayne's World (dir. Penelope Spheeris, 1992)

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

The best bits in those documentaries are when he talks to Mayhem and the Norwegian who credits Satan for his success.

Check out "Until the Light Takes Us". It was released in November of 09. Here is a brief synopsis.

Until the Light Takes Us is a feature length documentary chronicling the history, ideology and aesthetic of Norwegian black metal - a musical subculture infamous as much for a series of murders and church arsons as it is for its unique musical and visual aesthetics. This is the first (and only) film to truly shed light on a movement that has heretofore been shrouded in darkness and rumor and obscured by inaccurate and shallow depictions. Featuring exclusive interviews and verité with the musicians, a wealth of rare, seldom seen footage from the "Inner Circle"s earliest days, Until the Light Takes Us explores every aspect of the controversial movement that has captured the attention of the world. This is the movie that gets inside the minds and hearts of black metal's musicians. The filmmakers moved to Norway, living and filming there for two years. The movie is not about them though - it's about the extraordinary people and events that make black metal unique, unforgettable, and inevitable. This is black metal as seen through the eyes of those who created it, of those who live it, of those who are at the center of the story of black metal. Featuring: Gylve "Fenriz" Nagell, Varg Vikernes, Jan Axel "Hellhammer" Blomberg, Kjetil "Frost" Haraldstad, Ivar Bjornson, Abbath and Demonaz Doom Occulta, Kris "Garm" Rygg, Bjarne Melgaard, Harmony Korine, and more.

--The whole concept of government granted and government regulated 'permits' and the accompanying government mandate for government approved firearms 'training' prior to being blessed by government with the privilege to carry arms in a government approved and regulated manner, flies directly in the face of the fundamental right to keep and bear arms.

Those bit's made me laugh too. Is it just me or does Black metal rapidly decend into self parody far to quickly?

Metal: A Headbangers Journey is fantastic. Not as deep or revealing as I'd like, but the enthusiasm in it is just so infectious
