i just finished watching that movie and as any Michael Moore film, it explains the topic brilliantly in a funny way.

Just wanted to talk about it for a bit..especially the influence of (YAAAYAYAYYYY!!) Marilyn Manson on the american youth, because i reckon that is the worst pile of gak i've ever seen....

At least he didn't call it "the Michael Moore Documentary".

It's shot the same way as a movie (out of sequence and edited for better impact) and is in no way a "documentary".

As for Marilyn Manson having an impact on American Youth.

No more so than Alice Cooper. There's pretty much nothing MM has done that Alice didn't already do.

I used to shoot - with a semi-automatic, yet. At a legal range where I was a legal member. Then they made my gun illegal. It wasn't an automatic (not too hard to do so, but it was not intrinsically one). I also used to go pig shooting with it. Nothing stops feral razorbacks better than a .308 through the head.

Michael Moore is near the bottom of my list of directors, and he simply shows his arrogance and ignorance in his films (two things I cannot stand, just after liars and cheaters)
I refuse to give him my money.

Of the ones I've seen, Bowling for Columbine is probably his most watchable.

The sad fact is that of all the people he interviews, Marylin Manson is far and away the most articulate and sensible of the lot... followed by Trey parker and Matt Stone.

Is his opinion balanced? Nope.
Are his claims always accurate? Nope.

But what he does do is provide food for thought in a medium the other side can't ignore.

I hate to flaunt my ignorance on Dakka (cos, y'know it will make my epeen shrivel up) but what are the specific faults with Michael Moore and his films?
I looked at wikipedia and it said there was some disputed accuracy, but there didn't seem enough to make Moore despicable.

Why doesn't Mikey boy talk about the number of people killed by drunk drivers? I get sick to death of hearing about Columbine when more people get killed yearly by drunks on our roads as opposed to criminals killing people with guns.

Presenting opinion and/or falsehoods is always bad and reflects badly on the person that is being deceptive. Worse, it sours all credibility so that even if there may be a worthwhile idea presented it is destroyed by the disengenious way it is presented. In the end the presentation becomes less about the idea and more about the way it is presented. As you can see here the discussion here isn't about firearms but about Moore.
