Hi, im painting my 40k orks as snakebites.
I was wondering if having my orks riding animals would work?
Eg, instead of bikes they would ride those velociraptor things that the dark elves are on.
Also, do you think a stegadon could work as a trukk or even a battlewagon!? (im not sure how big the model actually is...)
Has any one done anything like this before?

Stegadon would make a great Trukk.

Friend of mine is doing Snakebites - he's mixing Warhammer Orcs with regular Orks to make the Boyz, and Black Orcs with the Nob kit to make lower-tech Nobz. He plans to get a few Stegadons to mount his units on.

Cyboars are the traditional alternative to bikes for snakebites.

Google George Dellapina's Feral orks; they're brilliant and will give you some nice ideas (they were in an old WD , 298 I believe).

Cyboars is the way to go.
Snakebites always used these in the fluff, check google images for some cool conversions and classic models.
You might be able to dig some up on ebay or perhaps convert Juggernauts for your Nobs and wfb boarboys for regular bikes.
A nicely converted Snakebite Nob biker list would be ALMOST fun to play against.
