Just finished watching History of the World, Men in Tights, High Anxiety, Young Frankestein, and my favorite, Blazing Saddles.
I even got my buddy into them!
You know Scout, with your recent discoveries of Romero films,The Twilight Zone and now the films of Mel Brooks, your becoming quiet a conisuer of classic entertainment...well done.
Oh,bit of a side note, don't know if your aware of it or not,but Mel Brooks' son Max Brooks has written some fairly interesting books concerning zombies..." World war Z" & "The Zombie survival guide"...you might want to give them a look.
I am both selfish and chaotic. I value self-gratification and control; I want to have things my way, preferably now. At best, I'm entertaining and surprising; at worst, I'm hedonistic and violent.
Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it.
I think you're not giving enough credit to
To be or not to be - 'Sweet Georgia Brown' is a tongue twister in Polish, and switching to English mid song is Groucho Marx grade difficult. (Groucho was known to dance seamlessly up onto a bed with his partner staying on the floor)
The Producers - Which is still better than Blazing Saddles, and Young Frankenstein. The Broderick version is amusing, but just doesn't stand up to Zero Mostel.
Special unique snowflake of unique specialness (+1/+3versus werewolves)
Alternatively I'm a magical internet fairy.
Pho indignation *IS* the tastiest form of angry!
Mel Brooks was gut busting humor. Blazing Saddles was one of his best but Young Frankenstein was simply over the top... Abby Normal???
On another note did anyone feel sorry for Frankenstein's monster in the original? I did... He did not ask to be re-animated and he was the classic fish out of water. I love the original novel by Mary Shelley. The monster was quite intelligent and hunted down the doctor in the end. To me it was a bit of karma and I have always viewed the monster as the basis for the Hulk.

I actually always considered myself to be a classic kind of man, but now I really know it. My dad bought the Ginger Rogers/Fred Astire collection, and I'm planning on watching them. I've also watched some classic musicals, like West Side Story, Sound of Music, and part of the new Phantom of The Opera. I also had no idea Max Brooks was his son.

My Honors English class in my senior year actually held a mock trial of the monster. The jury convicted him and the judge ordered execution. [The jury was a group of random students asked to pull jury duty, lol]
