After Seeing the Looted Carnefex Idea on dakka here I got an the idea that I also wanted to do it as well. My Boss Squirrel told me that he once a long while ago thought of the idea but, I forget who...said it would be a stupid idea....(yeah....right)

So I am asking for idea's of what "could" be done with something like that to give me some ideas of how I might want to do mine!

O H I am in the Webway...

I suggest you taking on the theme the orks saw the body and "patched it up" with mechanical parts and a new head (it can't just be "looted" in the normal sense because it is controlled by the hive mind) and even maybe a grot pilot in it. I highly suggest a lot of mechanical parts and make it look very orky, almost robotic. Make it look like it was once killed and now has been zombified by the orks.

He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster and if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you

Really wouldn't orkez just use the weapons (arm knife things)? I guess a crazy ork could build a killer can with those as arms?

Have a grot wired into the skull of the carnifex like a cockpit, and cyborg it up a bit.

The Seraphs of Thunder: a homebrew, almost entirely converted successor Deathwing. And also some Orks. And whatever else I have lying around.

Possible idea of cutting off the head and getting a Mad Dok to wire a Squig to it instead - they're basically heads with legs.

Ouze on GW: "I'd like to be like, hey baby, you're a freak but you just got too much crazy going on, and I don't hook up with bunny boilers. But then Necrons are going to come out, and I'm going to be like damn girl, and then next thing you know, it's angry sex time again.

It's complicated."

That one is my favourite.
I'd do it like that but with less weight on the back and gun arms.

I'd love to see how you do this. My take on the Looted 'Fex would involve:

A small platform with grots on it, like the squiggoth.

Lots of chains - perhaps chains leading towards a bridle.

Straps of leather made with greenstuff holding on pieces of armor plate with glyphs on it
So far as the head goes - I'd chip off some of the skull armor in such a way it appeats to have been chipped (the the FW Dread banner with the Nid decomposing in it?) and then run some bass guitar wire into the ripped open segment, running to the Mek pilot's controls. Make sure to include at least one large bolt, Frankenstein style.

Is it just to be a display model, or will it 'count as' something in the ork codex (a Dredd being the obvious choice)? I suggest deciding that first, then working backwards to make a beasty with the required weapons etc.

Fluffwise, I suppose that a Dok and Mek might work together to buld an implant or force field or bionic thingummy (e.g. a whole new head! ) that mimics the hive mind, i.e. the fex doesn't realise it's been taken over. They'd then put a saddle or howdah on top and volunteer someone for the honour of trying to control the beast in combat.

I dunno, I'm not a fan of this idea because the carnifex is a living creature. That's like saying "Looted Space Marine" it's just kinda wierd and doesn't really fit.

Just my two cents.
