So I notice a tactical marine doesn't have a CC weapon (and thus only has 1 attack in CC?)

A guardsman has close combat weapon listed under his wargear... does that mean he has 2 attacks?

BRB p42, somewhere down the bottom right of the page IIRC explains under what circumstances close combat weapons confer a bonus attack in combat.

It didn't really explain... It talked about how you can get an additional attack if you have two close-combat weapons... but I don't understand why they'd bother to state that a guardsman has a CC weapon if it didn't confer any bonus?

It did explain how to get additional attacks, and you do appear to have understood what it was saying. If they meet the requirements of p42, they get an additional attack.

Probably for fluff's sake. So the guardsmen is fighting with some sort weapon instead of his fist

Also, note that marines have a pistol and pistols can be used as CCWs.

This is a trend with the 5th ed. codexes to give everyone a CCW of some sort, but in practice it makes no difference whatever unless you have two (although pistols are nice to have if you're carrying something other than an assault weapon).

Space Marines have a Pistol, which is both a CCW and a Gun

I dont have the IG codex so I might be talking a lot of crap.

But there might perhaps be a unit that can exchange his weapon for another close combat weapon or a pistol or something, meaning he has 2 ccw granting him the +1 attack.
If he'd only have the one gun, there'd be no point in exchanging it for a ccw.

Think of it like a space marine sergeant.

They all have boltguns and bolt pistols. But there wouldn't be any point for the sergeant to trade his boltgun for a chainsword if he wouldn't already have the bolt pistol.

Edit:
Totally offtopic but I suddenly realized I can take 2x powerfists for my sergeant *drools*. I know what model I'll try to convert sooner or later

What SuperioR said. Some Guardsmen can exchange their Lasguns for pistols, and then will be able to claim the +1 attack for having two CCW.

In the Webway.

He'll only get the extra attack if he has another CCW or a pistol. The reason he has one if he doesnt have a pistol is probably that he cant fidht with his fists, unlike a marine.
