Subject: [WM] Ripjaw cryx warjack (with a little plastic speculation)

The Ripjaw’s pincer-like jaws are used to hold its victims in place while its bone saw cuts them into mangled and unidentifiable bits. Necrotechs take particular delight in using the Ripsaw, as the ’jack efficiently dismembers its victims into component pieces. Regardless of these lethal armaments, the Ripjaw remains quick and agile like its brethren and serves its master by maneuvering its arc node to wherever required to disrupt the plans of the enemies of Cryx.
3D rotation
PP's sucky photographer strikes again with another piss poor camera angle. Check the 3D rotation for a better view. I'm leaning strongly towards thinking that this new crop of 'Prime chassis' light warjacks (see also: Firefly) are plastic. They're certainly not based upon the old metal sculpts. It looks like this may be a Defiler/Deathripper/Nightwrech/Ripjaw multi warjack kit. Further speculation says we're waiting on a new Protectorate of Menoth light Warjack on the Revenger/Repenter/Redeemer chassis.

If it was a plastic kit the page would say plastic on it. IIANM all the other kits have said so

For me it looks like a poorly designed CAD model ,the details are too straight and sharp ,it seems to be the same 3D model from the video game ,which doesnt work in reality.

Looks like a bonejack to me.
I wonder if those mandibles will give it Armor Piercing.
Otherwise I don't know what it may do that the Deathripper doesn't.
I don't much care for Arc Nodes with melee weapons.
Seems counter-productive.

The edging looks too sharp, and the facings too smooth to be metal. I think it's plastic.

Plastic. Compare it to the
Deathripper. Spikes are too sharp, and the body shape has shifted some.
This is awesome news!

Thanks, OldGrue.
Check out the perfect spikes in the OP, compared with metal model above.
Definitely plastic.

I think the design is too close to the Deathripper (which in itself gives credence to the plastic rumor). A part of it's attributable to a poor choice of photo, but the silhouettes are very similar.

If it does turn out to be Plastic it has some interesting implications. Speculation mode on!
Man-O-Wars: These must be one the way too as they're Khador's "light Warjack". I suspect that they will include Demolition Korps as an optional build. Khador may even get a third Man-O-War type as part of the kit. There are also implications for the Drakkun which requires a Man-O-War to make its unmounted model.
Battleboxes: It now makes much more sense why the Mercenary battleboxes were dropped. Perhaps the Warcasters in the Battle boxes will be re-sculpted (in metal, definitely metal) when (if) the battleboxes are relaunched with plastic Warjacks.

The Privateer Press Forums are back up but there's still no confirmation of this being plastic (or not).

Why would they include one of those? Is it for the "Captain Haley goes to the doctor" scenario that I've been hearing about?
Ohhh... You said "a little plastic speculation", not "a little plastic speculum".

Are those plastic ones the same size as the metals?
Getting a few plastics would be great to model the jack wrecks that inevitably occure when you open up these tin cans and have a look inside with some firepower, or those nice sized claws, drills, etc.
Then you models a couple of sized wrecks to represent the dead jacks that you can scarpjack for, make into more, or just use as objectives.
I remember that the Cryx make more mechs if they had a guy in contact with one. I can't remember the guys name, but we played this game when one of the guys killed the other guys warjack and then used the dead one to bring out a couple of the smaller ones. They looked exactly like those little guys with the skull mouths on them but they had a gun in there someplace.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made. |

Doesn't the original deathripper have some sort of sustained attack ability, where any extra attacks after a successful hit auto hit? How is this thing going to differentiate itself enough to justify existing, especially since it may ultimately be a glorified walking arcnode like the other bonejacks.
