Deffkoptas have the special rule hit and run.
To hit and run, you take an initiative test; if you pass, you break out of combat. What is that? Roll a D6 and....what? Roll higher than your initiative? Lower? If you're a Deffkopta with a buzzsaw and are I1, do you auto-fail?

Page 8, Characteristic Tests As for models with Initiative changing wargear, it is unclear. For sweeping advance, it is made clear to use the profile initiative, but for other tests, no such distinction is made.

I appreciate you referring me to the rulebook, but I'm not surrounded by my 40k stuff right now, or I'd look it up myself. =p
D6 higher than or lower than Initiative?

Well not really use always use the models base Initiative value, ok you could have it boosted but .... To the best of my knowledge nothing changes a models Initiative value, only the Initiative that they strike at in close combat.

Im afraid this forum is not for asking for rules wholesale. The best I can tell you is the page reference.

D6, lower than or equal to passes. A 1 always passes. A 6 always fails. If a model doesn't have an Initiative, it auto-fails.

What harm can it do to find out? It's a question that left bruises down the centuries, even more than "It can't hurt if I only take one" and "It's all right if you only do it standing up." Terry Pratchett, Making Money
"Can a magician kill a man by magic?" Lord Wellington asked Strange. Strange frowned. He seemed to dislike the question. "I suppose a magician might," he admitted, "but a gentleman never could." Susanna Clarke Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell

@Gwar!: If it doesn't specify the profile value, then initiative modifiers should count. Of course, abilities such as Furious Charge wouldn't have any affect on a Hit and Run attempt.
