I'm looking for multiple jars of GW's now out of production Black Ink. I will pay well for them.

Thanks.

FYI Citadel Color now makes a black wash that works pretty much the same. Kinda sad though now my paint pots dont match

Washes and Inks are separate products.

Good luck on your Hunt Mythos.

It really needs to be the ink, not the wash. I use the ink to achieve a particular sheen. I've tried other brands of ink and experimented with mixing blacks and clear coats to achieve it. Its just no good. So its inks or bust.

Yeah your right just experimented with my ink vs the wash and the ink definitly has a certain shine to it. Anyone know why they discontinued the inks?? Good thing i bought like one of each before they dropped em.

I think it probably a cost issue. Washes are cheaper to produce than inks. Washes are water-downed paint. Ink has more to it.

That makes it a little problematic to buy. If you want a pot I have plenty of empty pots. There is just no easy way of quantifying the "small amount of black ink" if its only a portion of what remains in your jar.

I'm fine with purchasing remaining portions of jars with the jar. I can even give you an empty or two for free.

I have one of the GW black ink pots but am curious if this is any different than the ink you can buy from Hobby Lobby or the craft stores for $6 a bottle? I understand acrylic paint has pigment for the color. Is ink just more pigment?

Its also a matter of how fine the pigment is when its added and a matter of the suspension medium that keep the pigment liquid. I have tried some of those inks with mixed results. I need the GW ink mostly for the sake of consistency, I started two different armies with it, they're both 60% painted and I'd probably repaint it if I couldn't get the ink.

Ive started using 'Quink' ink, the stuff for fountain pens, with a little gloss varnish then watered down it seems to work just like the old citadel inks.

I was going to suggest something like that. Did more experimenting and mixing a little chaos black with watered down 'ard coat varnish gets the same result. Good Luck. If i had extras i would glady share the wealth but sadly i dont :(.

Perhaps a better idea would be to check out Coat D'Arms.
That's who made all of GW's paints and (as I understand it) inks.

I also hear that they still have them all available, just not with the same color names as GW used.

Hope that helps!
