Drop the DCCW's on the 3 heavy dreads and take skorchas instead.
this will allow you to thin out units with 2 templates each before you assault them.

Also, with the good amount of points saved, get more boyz in each mob

This list has potential but sadly I just don't think the Deff Dredds are up to the challenge. I could be wrong, though. Playtest the lest and post a battle report!

I can foresee this being competitive enough....

As for you using slugga/choppa boys instead of shoota boys, just announce at the start of the game "counts as." IE, every boy on the field is a shoota boy.

Shoota boyz and throw in three rokkits per unit. You have enough dakka with shoota boyz, add in rokkits for ranged anti tank. Rest looks fine

I like it. The only thing I could see doing is finding a way to get some deffkopta's with rokkits in there, but I wouldn't know what to tell you to cut.

I like deffkopters. But I thnik they will be uot of place. They will be moving forward a lot quicker than the rest of the army. Might be good for getting a early kicking, giving and taking, but they will get shot up before the rest. They have no support to back them up :(

I meant them to be held in reserve for flanking and pummeling tanks. 3 squads of 2 koptas gives you good odds of coming in on the side you want, makes your opponent fear his flanks for deployment and movement. And since they won't be on the board turn 1 they won't get shot up.

I'm not a fan of outflanking as its a luck of the draw with the dice to where you appear.

but usually at 1500 you'll be playing on a 6X4 or 4X4. no matter where your koptas move in from they can hit your opponent. move 12" shoot 24" that's half way through the table. so even if the dice gods decide for you to come in on the other side, which is a 1 in 3 chance, you'll still be able to do something

They're great for outflanking... if you get second turn... but if you get first turn you can chuck them into your opponent's face with a scout move/3+ cover save. I often do it even when I have 2nd. They're T5 so may well attract some of the fire intended for your dreadnoughts, and if not, they are at least of use absorbing a first-turn's worth of firepower. Don't forget that they have 2 wounds, too!

Remember you can turboscout koptas. Usually turboscout gets you close enough to move in, fire, charge, and then withdraw behind a cover with "hit and run", all on the frist turn (if you are beginning of course). As for those dreads... I would like to see the look on your oponents face

about deffkoptas though, i will usually take 1-2 of them as single model units, tl rokkits and buzzsaws on each.

If you get the first turn turbo boost those suckers with the pre game move, then between tl rokkits and a s7 buzzsaw on rear armor youre autohitting its almost certain to stun/shake or even destroy if your fairly lucky .

If going second i just keep em back behind cover and take potshots with rokkits, mabye outflanking 1 of them.

Providing you get the right roll to come on the right table edge

Scout move with deffkopters is very good. Something I do all the time, providing I get first turn .

Feasting on the souls of unworthy opponents

I would encourage you to take the rokkits out of the units of boys and never consider putting them in there again.

90% of all vehicles have at least AV11 on the front. Your shoota boys need to either be running during the shooting phase to close the distance between you and the enemy (thereby not shooting rokkits), or closing on an enemy unit in preparation for assaulting them, and pumping 58 BS2 shots into that unit before you assault it (nob with powerklaw takes away one shoota).

If you put rokkits into that boy squad for some "ranged anti-tank" then you basically have a 26 orks and a nob with a powerklaw going to waste. Those shootas aren't going to hurt any of the tanks you're approaching unless they turn tail to flee and present you with rear armor for some reason; then you need 5+ to hit, 6 to glance....still not promising. It is NOT the job of your shoota boys or any troops choice mob to provide anti-tank unless you're talking about the nob's powerklaw in close combat.

A couple of scouting / outflanking deffkoptas can give you real anti-tank, and ALL of those kans / dreads have STR10 DCCWs that will eat tanks in close combat. You didn't make a ranged ork list here, you made a vicious mid-range to close range shooting before the assault list. The tanks will die when you get to them, and the Big meks make sure that you get there.

Please...no rokkits!

Now Dash I used to say that myself, when one day I looked at my list and thought hmmm needs a little more anti tank. I popped two rokkits into two units of 20 boyz. They hit, something, but for 10 points they pay themselves back over many times.

I wouldn't take them in singles. Taking multiples just gives you three chances of rolling a 5+ instead of just that single shot, something has got to hit, right?

The rokkits aren't going to waste maybe, see you pop a trasnport which you said would be armour 11 you can assault the squad inside

The only difference between deffkopters and boyz with rokkits is twin linked, which is definately a help. But when you have rokkits in multiples something has got to hit.

So far they have done well for me. Pop a tank, assault what is inside. Better than charging a tank and only a power klaw doing real damage and scoring plenty of glancing hits :(

So, rokkits, they're like marmite - give them a try
