Looking for trust worth dakka members that enjoys a challenging resin piece.
I have no idea how to prep it , so it would need some work ( cutting / sanding ) and if possible pinning as well
so it can be easily shipped around in pieces .

Will pay for shipping + your work ( but please dont charge too much >< ) Or if some minis in my gallery catches your eye
that works too if you prefer that than money.

Here is some specific info we probably need to use to discuss:
size , hard to say so use the ork boy to compare , its only 14 pieces phew ,
there is almost no mold lines ( only 2-3 i think ) the thing i need help the most is smart way of pinning it.

the boomerang i have no idea how to attach , i can imagine no glue in the world can work perfectly to hold it.
I dont know how many pinning per joints i need , but generally i want to be able to slide the pieces together into it's original pose so i wont need glue

Its missing a sword , but its not important , and i dunno what the shield attaches on , so we dont have to attach it either.

Looks like a gundam scythe 0_o

Suffused with the dying memories of Sanguinus, the warriors of the Death Company seek only one thing: death in battle fighting against the enemies of the Emperor.

Have you thought of maybe magnetizing some of the major areas and pinning the smaller joints....I just believe it would hold better, especially if you are going to move around and in pieces. I just believe pinning models such as this looses its affect over time because of the hole getting bigger, etc.

Hope this helps.

Yikes.

I had no idea that the FSS resins were moulded in so few pieces.

A few thoughts.

1. I don't think you'd be able to friction fit this kind of model.

2. I think that for joints, you are best to pin securely with at least a few mm of pin in each end and putty the joint. I have only ever built one resin anime kit, and gap filler (or putty) was needed to make sure the joints fit well. Superglue will probably work well to glue.

3. That one scythe looks broken. It would be most easily fixed by pinning the parts and regluing it together with superglue. Any chips can be fixed using gap filler or putty.

okay i'm not gonna do it for you, just because of postage considerations, unless you really wanna spend ~90 to get this thing prepped....

anywys here's how i'd do it

i'd use AT least 2 mm pins ( mostly electric cabling wo insulation) 2 per joint whenever possible, then i'd try to get my hands on 5 mm neodynium (?) magnets and place 1 between every 2 pins, for the finer parts i'd use 3 or even 2 mm magnets and 1 mm pins...

as for prepping the actual model, i'd go over it first with dishwashing liquid and then with pure alochol or metho if there is no better to hand, then i'd basecoat it with a 50/50 mixture of alcohol and black /white/grey (whichever you want)

it's really simple so there not really much need to send it of and risk it breaking (anymore?) and or getting lost stolen or similar...

;-)
