Hello guys. I was wondering, has anyone heard rumours of DA or Eldar?

Not especially. The closest we've gotten is "Blood Angels are only half the story" when it comes to next year's releases of Marines. As for Eldar, there was a snippet in WD this month that said one guy's Eldar army was taken in for playtesting, but that was it. In short, nothing concrete.

I dread to think...

As for the 'Blood Angels are only half the story' part, the other half will be LoTD. Probably.

And the playtesting will probably be against DE.

But i will probably be wrong. You can't trust anyone these days...

Bet you it'll be Blood Ravens. Although, if those rumours of a plastic thunderhawk a while back had any substance, they might do Hawk Lords just so they can sell more of them.

I doubt we'll see Blood Ravens as a proper release/Codex. They don't deviate *that* much.

Supposedly we'll see a "fleet based Chapter" which, to me, suggests either Black Templars or Dark Angels.

I think you can have a pretty good guess. If not, then why isn't that a Space Wolf fortress we are looking at there?

There's this bit here on BoLS about Dark Eldar. I don't think Eldar or Dark Angels will be any time soon. Nothing I've picked up online or from contacts even remotely suggests any imminent substantial releases for those two ranges.

That meritted a post? It amounted to "Dark Eldar are a codex...and GW releases codeci...so Dark Eldar could be released by GW."

It contributed more than the "that merited a post" comment.

Sadly, it's more information than you're likely to get in this thread fishing about for rumors on DA and Eldar. If there was anything out there anyone was excited to share it would have already been posted. And the likelihood or not of a near future DA revision has already recently been discussed to death here and on other forums. This whole "topic" was likely dead on arrival.

That's usually a sign that an army is close to a new release. But with DE at this point, who knows what that means...

Nope, LotD are in January, well before the Blood Angels -- who are coming out and any other codex releases for the Imperium next year.

And the playtesting will probably be against DE.

hmm... not impossible, I would personally suggest that Necrons might be another option here.

If it is against Dark Eldar then we would know that a/the new Eldar codex would follow on soon ( term used in the GW sense of the word here and therefore may not agree with standard/your understanding of the term) after that book.

I would be very surprised if we saw/see another codex for Dark Angels prior to any new edition of the rules to be honest, not least as I think it likely they would be keen to standardise all the marine equipment again, especially for what are, largely, codex based chapters. The Fortress is to me, much more indicative of GW's growing confidence with regards to what they can release and do in plastic. I am reasonably certain we'll see some form of release for plastic versions of the giant marine statutes we keep seeing in lots of the GW articles-- check out the Wolf/Tyranid diorama WIP shots-- and perhaps even some non Imperium terrain at some point.

Hell, it would seem, has been rather chilly of late.

They need to make those Tyranid Spore Chimneys as plastic terrain. Something like that could easily sell a ton of stuff as you could use it for all kinds of terrain conversions.

It seems to me the reference of blood angels being only half of the story indicates a back pedal to the days of angels of death.

I would actually be quite surpised if it wasnt angels of death styled.

Not that I play or care about 40K anymore, but thats the impression I got.

We can always hope. I still win more games than I lose with my DA, but it'd be nice to have some of the newer toys.

Sorry, but GW decided to give DA storm shields that are lighter versions of the new SM storm shields, dito for cyclones.
