Alright guys I know there is a TON of stuff on Kommando modeling, but I couldnt quite find what I was looking for. I'm running into the trouble of my Kommandos looking a lot like my Boyz. I refuse to buy the actual models considering I have 90 extra Boyz models. So I wanted to do something different and fun but I cant figure out what. Ive seen the barrels, and Tires ect ect and i'm really into them, but I'm going to have 45 Kommando models so I dont want them all to be barrels lol. Does anyone have any ideas? I have a ton of extra bits to work with. If i wanted the barrels, where could i find the right size barrel or would paper towel rolls work ect. Thanks for the feedback guys.
Also, if you feel this topic has been brought up to many times, feel free to lock it. I just couldnt quite find the answers I was looking for.

Some WHF Arrer boyz, IG backpacks, some creative converting and...
This image actually is from Dakka user: TheGrin Automatically Appended Next Post: Also, search this forum, I know someone a few months back, built some great and simple back-packs for their own custom Kommandos.

I am trying to remember where I saw them, but someone made kommandos by adding "welding helmets" of greenstuff with gem eyes for night vision goggles.

You can take Burna Boy heads an' stick 'em on Boyz.
Give 'em sneaky poses and BAMF! Kommandos.

Exactly what I did for the heads.
Also, greenstuff up some backpacks with stickbombs, explosives, and knives. Paint them unique, as well. Use your army color on just a single bandana or armband, while the rest of them can be a dingy camo or just black.

Backpacks are good - normal orks don't wear them.
I liked the way the old-style kommandos all wore knitted caps (like WW2 british commandos).
Camouflage is also a good idea - so long as no other units (especially Blood Axes) wear it. And even camouflage-painted weapons/

Boonie hats and bandannas. Masks, obviously sneaky poses. Maybe have one crawling, that'd be pretty cool. tip-toeing would be funny too. Pus some foliage on them, like leaves and gillie suits and stuff. That's about all I got right now.

oh sweet guys thanks for all the replys. I'm not the greatest with green stuff but i could give the back packs a shot. The more i thought about it the more i just wanted to throw them in tires and barrels for the comic relief. It seems like it would be pretty easy and funny as hell to play with.

I think tip toeing would look pretty funny as well.

Yep, all you need is a barrel and a pair of ork legs.
I think you could make reletavely good kommandos my adding 'thief' masks with green stuff and have the sneaking or hiding behing something.

For something less humorous than the 'petrol drum with legs' approach but keeping with the camo theme, how about some orks with half-drums, ammo box lids etc tied to their backs? I think it could be done 'seriously', to show they are genuine infiltration experts.
