For a salamander player you can.

Find out if he plays drop pods before you get him any tanks.

If he doesn't have Vulkan, that's a good bet. Assault Terminators are also always appreciated, although that may be pricey.

I suggest a blister if something, not that expensive, and even if he doesn't play it, it's generaly an interesting model, but first, investigate.

I second the Assault Terminators. Regardless of his army type, if you're unwilling or unable to get a closer look at what he has and what kind of tactics he runs I can't think of any Space Marine player who wouldn't welcome an Assault Termie squad.

Maybe whip up something nice? A Salamander-themed objective marker or converted sergeant could be nice.

Best thing I could think of would be another assault terminator box (yes he already has some, but the box allows for both dual lightning claws and thunder hammer storm shields) If you really want to go all out grab an LRC as well.

If you are on a budget grab him a devestator squad so he can have the special weapons.

You may use anything I post, just remember to give me credit if used somewhere else.

But don't get all bent out of shape if your opponent looks disdainfully upon your lack of originality while tabling you in 4 turns because he's got beating SMs down to an exact science after fighting them for hundreds of consecutive games.

Beat me to it. ><

The best gift you can give a space marine player is the opportunity to play a better army.

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

How about drop pod Pedro Sterenguard, I just woulden't know what to do with them. With 3 elite choices taken up, Termies would be tough to fit in.
