Saturday, I battled my friend Michael at GW Berlin I.

EC army:

2x DP w/ wings, mos, lash
9 Termies w/ pf x2, combi-weapons
3x 7 Noise Marines incl. AC w/ power weapon, doom siren, Rhino
3x 2 Obliterators

Michael's army:

Björn
Dread w/ assault cannon
2x Dread w/ lascannon, ml
2x 10 GH w/ melta x2, pf, Rhino
1x 10 GH w/ plasma gun x2, pf, Rhino
3x Vindicator

Four mission objectives,
DoW deployment.

Battle field (set up by GW employee): The DA fortress was placed in the centre - see below.

Turn 1: Michael deployed to one side of the fortress, Vindicators in front, Rhinos behind,
all Dreads on the sides; three in the centre (incl.) Bjorn and one on the flank.
There was no shooting as I deployed nothing.

My army entered the scene... shooting went bad.

In turn 2, Bjorn ordered the Dreads to take on the approaching Rhinos but only two were able to target them.
They failed.

The DP's commanded the EC army to approach the enemy. The two Rhinos on the flank moved at full speed, while the Rhino in the centre get cover from the fortress.
The Obliterators opened fire and destroyed one Vindicator and immobilizing another.

In turn 3, Bjorn commanded the GH unit at the flank to disembark and take on the closest enemy Rhino.
Obviously, the GH got confused by the smoke-launching Rhino and so their meltas bounced off.
Bjorn decided not to advance towards the enemy. The shooting killed one (or two) Obliterators.

The Emperor's Children army advanced, the Termies entered the Fortress and were now rather close to the Dreads including Bjorn itself.
The NM unit whose Rhino was shot by GH's disembarked. One DP lashed the GH unit in front of the NM's so that their shooting with the doom siren killed 4 of these nordic warriors. Then the NM unit charged winning combat.
At the same time, another GH unit approaching the centre was lashed by the 2nd DP.
This unit was obviously misled and they seemed to flee from the battlefield.
The Obliterators made short work with the 2nd Vindicator and a shooty Dread in the centre.

In turn 4, Bjorn ordered the GH unit with plasma guns to help out their fellows in cc.
However, the NM unit held their ground.

The DP commanded the NM Rhino squad to disembark and help out their fellows in cc.
These guys charged and the situation for the GH's got grim.
In the centre, one DP lashed the GH unit into charging range.
These poor warriors got charged by the DP and the Termies.
The GH's managed to kill the DP, but the Termies made short work with them.
Moreover, the other DP charged the Vindicator in the centre destroying it.

In turn 5, Bjorn and his fellow Dread charged the DP (that popped the Vindicator).
The DP got almost knocked down with one wound left.

The GH's in the melee with the NM's got killed finally,
and both decimated NM units moved towards the objective.
The Termies charged into the melee with the DP and Dreads and finally the power fists took Bjorn and his fellow down.

At the end of the battle, the Space Wolves lost all but one Rhino,
while the NM army was rather intact, loosing 2 DP's, 2 Obliterators, a few NM's and Termies.

Death to the followers of the false Emperor!

Crushing defeat for the poor space wolves. Pity.

PROSECUTOR: By now, there have been 34 casualties.

I felt a bit sorry for him.
But I have to admit that I rolled rather good.

Lol.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

Yeeeeeah.... reading the battle report, I thought that may have been the case. Ineffective GH firing and cc, oblits killing everything they looked at...

Could have been a very different game. Never leave Fenris without your Wolftail talismans!

Well, the Obliterators did a great job blowing away one Dread and 2 Vindicators.
