I have the problem of outlogging unvoluntarilly frequently, often when opening subforums' threads. Sorry, but no idea, what causes the problem.
Second, I can't edit my profile, as I always log out before getting the chance to do something.

Are you logged in on another computer with "keep me logged in" turned on on that computer?

I have found that when I am using 2 computers at once, they keep kicking each other off the forums unless I set whichever one I am using to "keep me logged in" (in which case the other computer is logged out).

Also, have you tried enabling "keep me logged in"?

You might also want to check your browser settings to make sure it is retaining the cookies for dakka.

I only use one computer for posting, so that one's out. The "keep me logged in" was clicked but only keeps me "online" from time to time even after logout. So I'll have to take a close look at the browser.

Your IP address changes frequently. Every time your IP changes, you will be logged out for security purposes. This could be because you or your ISP are using a proxy server. Unfortunately there is nothing I can recommend beyond ensuring you have a fixed IP address when using dakka, or to use the login bookmarklet highlighted in an older 'wont stay logged in' thread in this page as a backup option whenever you get logged out.
