Who is he? He is on sale at gw's site but I can't find anything on him and he definitely isn't in the dex.

A lot of the fluff on him has only come out recently in the fallen angels book from the horus heresy. Long story short though he was the master of the orders knowledge for the dark angels pre-heresy. He sided with luther during the great betrayel, and grabbed a sword which is believed to be that of lion el johnson, and took to the stars. He has incited revolts, and much more disasters and is called by many as the voice.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

In theory he is also working his way towards terra and every world he incites revolution in has come out of the ordeal stronger than it was beforehand. This implies that he does not truly work for chaos, but is helping humanity if not actually supporting the imperium.

Very true more to the fact that cypher points out the true belief of the fallen. Majority of the fallen except for Luther did not become followers of chaos much like their traitor brethern did. They were more in fact into the belief that the Imperium and the Emporer were destroying their world. So really they revolted to save their world not to worship gods.

He was a unit back in 3rd edition, and as far as I recall 4th as well for Chaos or IG armies where you could take chaos marines as his Fallen Angels squad.
His story was pretty cool as well, but then again anything tied to the Dark Angels is cool to me.

It was also the last surviving scrap of Fallen fluff that remained in the game. As far as I know he is no longer legal.

All true.

Cypher dates back to the 2E fluff - I think he's in the 2E Chaos book. As an ex-Fallen Angels player, it's a real shame that he's fallen out of the rules because GW doesn't know how to present him in the current Chaos / DA books. What was awesome about the Fallen is that they still retained ATSKNF - implying that they were actually Loyalist.

As GW seems to be bringing things back (Harlies, Griffons, LotD, etc.) I'd really like to see Cypher return in the next Chaos or DA book.

He's buried right at the back of the second edition book, after the daemon world armies and daemon princes and the beastman armies. Somewhat neglected he's there, on practically the last page. Huron Blackheart is in the main special character list too. We had to wait years for both of these to actually be modelled.

Holy boltguns, batman!!!!

I remember fighting in the traveling RT show that they had back in the day. Great times, bro!!!

These guys are great. I still have my 13 fallen that I built after that one. Basicly, this guy is the keeper of the unspoken secret, knows the truth about Lienal Johnson and is the hearlad of the eventual second coming of johnson.

A thing thaat has changed quite a bit since the second edition is the destruction of Calaban, and the floating "The Rock" with its supposedly endless amounts of catacombs underneath and the real supository of the Dark Angels arch heretic. They stopped talking about that one a few years ago, too bad, too. Now you don't get too much about Fallen Space Marines running around fighting alongside Chaos forces, or against them.

LATD, anyone???

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

I actually used his model and some of the DA robed models from 3rd edition to make a Veteran Squad for my Blood Angels, looks pretty tight. Other than that, yeah he dropped from the game shortly there after in the rules. Sad day.

Cheers!

His rules were pretty decent as well in the chaos codex. He could fire both bolt pistol and plasma pistol in the shooting phase. I think he could even use his C'Tan phase knife (yea you read that right) and it did some crazyness. I dont remember fully since I havnt popped that codex open in a REAL long time.

Personally, I think hes going to finish off the Emperor so he can be born again. Thats just my little pipe dream. And yes the IG could also use him and a squad of fallin.
