Well hopefully I will have the video side of the battle report done in a few days, but for now here are a crapload of pics. It was 5500pts 2 strategic assets and 1 super heavy per side. Tau and guard vs chaos and guard. I was on the ig/chaos side. We took vital objective and obstacles as our strategic assets. They took recon and some crazy tau one called remote drone network that kept us lit up like the fourth of july with marker lights. We played with the smallest no man's land ever (12inches). All said and done it took us almost 13 hours. It was close but in the end the tau and ig side had more objectives.

I used only the wide lens this time around so everyone could get a better overall view of the battlefield. I also did some shots of the board before we deployed. 88 pics, gives a pretty good depiction of the events. We lost our baneblade's primary weapon very early in the game and things went down hill quickly for the poor super heavy.

A certain battle between khorne berzerkers and some unlucky guardsmen managed to be the bols pic of the day earlier this week: http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2009/12/pic-of-day-12-1-09.html

I've got close ups of mine in my gallery, as for the other ig I might have one or two shots on my photobucket account from older games.

Huzzah - I've found the creator of the picture that was featured on BoLS!

Anyhow, that was a b-e-a-utifuel battle report man! Those Guard rock. My favourite picture is the one where it's like:

"Private, we've been given orders."

"Sir?"

"Yes. Aim the mortar at the wall. We're blowing this damn building."

"Sir!"

"Emperor damn you private - Do as I say! This building is coming down NOW!"

"Err, for the Emperor, I suppose..."

They're all mostly just foam, pva glue and then primed black with this spraypaint that doesn't melt foam. Dry brushed (badly) with codex grey or quiv. The real trick is adding little bits here and there and a few symbols and signs to sell the artifice of it all. I found a bunch of old gw pdf's online with great little signs and the mechanicus symbols I got off bols. I just print to heavy card stock paper and cut them out carefully with really sharp scissors.

Absolutely fantastic looking Apoc battle. Everything just seemed to mesh so well to show just how varied 40K can be.

Thanks for posting such great pics!

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.
