So the great crusade goes out to conquer unite all the human world, emperor goes home to tinker in his basement and Horus gets played to be a chaos pawn. Result = Hersey. So the great Crusade wasn't finished.. There should of been worlds left undiscovered. Right?
Did they discover them afterwards.. in those 10k years
Are they still undiscovered?
There weren't any left. Great crusade was effectively over at the time of Hersey.

Not much to discuss really. The Emperor turned the Crusade over to Horus, who then ignited a civil war leaving the Great Crusade unfinished. The Imperium still employs Rogue Traders to explore for new worlds and the fluff mentions new worlds being discovered since the time of the Heresy. Completely plausible that new worlds are still being rediscovered by the Imperium. Its a big galaxy, after all.

Of course there are undiscovered worlds! It is a undefined universe out there, so add as you like. Same as GW does with worlds for campaigns, new spezmarinz, new (soon to die horribly) IG regiments...

I can recall mentions of worlds being discovered, already inhabited, AFTER the HH. M32, M34, etc. Given that the Crusade ended before it was finished and the general state of the Imperium I have no doubt there are still plenty of human worlds out there undiscovered.

I'm pulling for at least one technologically advanced utopia that wonders what the hell is up with the primitive apes calling themselves humans.
Which then dies screaming under a never ending wave of IG.

There are undiscovered worlds, but the Spacez Marinez are more of a Inter-Galactic police force. That was what troubled alot of Astartes before the Horus Heresy, probaly the reason why some become traitor. When the Crusade was over, they would either be forgotten, or become a Police Force. Alot of worlds we're probaly lost during the Heresy.

I was going to go that way but didn't want to start a flame fest about technologically advanced humans and how it could unbalance things.

Wouldn't be an issue. Look at it this way. Judging from GW's fluff about worlds falling left and right, Star Trek's Federation of Planets would be equivalent to the number of planets the Imperium lost to exploding cute fuzzy bunnies in a year's time. One world, a couple of systems, even empires the size of Tau are a dime a dozen in 40K land space. Also remember there's a 4th dimension of time here. This "advanced human society" could exist in the 40K past or 40K future.

I just want to see what humanity would be like without the whole Dark Age of Technology downer. I recall it being said if humanity could return to just where it was before everything went into the crapper nothing would be able to threaten humanity in the 41st century. Not the Tyranids, orks, dark eldar, anyone, even all working together. So what could we do with another 15k years of advancement?

Not only was the Great Crusade never truly finished, but Imperial Planets are simply forgotten by the Minitorium all the time, slipping through the cracks.
Also, it's even mentioned in the BRB that there was a certain disgruntled general who was sent on a hopeless crusade into some far off place, there are a few reports he sends of making good progress and finding many human inhabited worlds, then nothing.

I recall something mentioning some of the largest titans (Emperoters?) sometimes acting like gigantic chapels, going to the newly rediscovered human worlds and acting to welcome them back into the fold and convert them to the light of the God Emperor. I can see how having a massive and awe inspiring walking city would help that, since it is implied that most of these worlds are about as advanced as Earth is now or lower. Opening up the stars, trade possibilities, etc, and basically waving the carrot about. And how the Ecellarchy is usually quite patient and generous in the leeway they give at first because it takes a little time (possibly a generation or two) to fully adapt and come under firm Imperium control. If they refuse to listen or yield then the military gets called in to crush the planet.
Of course, if the planet is found to be worshiping chaos, then if it is a small infestation they may try and save the clean ones while crushing the rest, otherwise call Exterminatus.

An entire agra world is seperated from Terra for a thousand years or so.
Their Technology declines so far back that they use single shot muskets to kill and ride horses to travel.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made. |

Maybe this would happen if some 30 light years of space around Sol system weren't plagued by warp storms, agri worlds would be surely close to Terra, the population wouldn't descend into an anarchy and the tech would be preserved.Terra was surely a heavily defended world because it's a homeworld.

Heaven forbid if an isolated pre-crusade human world is discovered and they developed higher tech than the imperium cause they lost their fear of it. The emperor is almost unheard of because they existed before he became Godhead. Their tech would be advanced enough to give the tau a run for their money. I wonder if they verison of the IG would have to be tweeked abit to count for the fact they have slightly more advanced weaponary.

We know about the rediscovered worlds.
We don't know how many unknowns (unre-discovered worlds) there are. If we did, they wouldn't be unknowns, but knowns - and we'd already know about them.
