Other than the Frazzled mantra that "people are evil, God should have stopped when he made Dogs," WTF why?

Political-don't see the angle.
religious? Its a mosque. Why would terrorists blow up a place of their own faith?
Have the terrorists lost the last strands of reality and just blowing up any concetration of people they see for no reason other than to see body parts? I don't get it.

Hard to say , as far as we know the terrorist might have lost some relative / friends that were civilians.

Thus is war , when someone innocent dies , everyone can only see revenge.

The political angle is to destabilise Pakistan and take over.

The religious angle is that Islam is as much a schismatic religion as Christianity. The different sects sometimes hate each other more than they hate non-coreligionists.

There have been plenty of wars and terrorisms between different flavours of Christians.

As noted, your confusion comes from thinking of "Muslims", "terrorists" or even "islamist terrorists" as monolithic groups. It's not one big group of people, any more than every Christian is the same, holds the same opinions, or is the same level of crazy.

On a different note- Peter Gabriel & Black Sabbath? Both awesome. Fraz, we have something else to talk about in agreement!

About 70% Sunni, 20% Shia, 10% other muslim.

But, like everywhere else the causes driving the violence are a lot more complex than the 'this lot are Sunnis, this lot are Shia'.

Part of the problem is most of the Taliban moved to Pakistan after the U.S. led invasion. Their idea of Islam is radically different from the majority of the Pakistani population; look at all the turmoil in Swat (sp?)

Still.. it doesnt concern me. I dont actually believe in the sincerity of the "assistance" that the Pakistani army and government give us, so if they want to kill each other all day i kinda find it difficult to give a monkeys.
