G'day All,

I've just come across a problem with one of my lists in the choice of wargear for my Captain.

A quick run through the list is;

Captain w/ storm shield and thunder hammer/ relic blade
5 assault termies
3x tac squads in Rhinos
5 man Scout squad with sniper rifles
Vindicator
Auto/ heavy bolter Pred
Land Raider Redeemer

This is obivously a mech army with the scouts holding the home objective. My main question is what is better for the Captain to have, Thunder hammer so that he has 4 S 8 I 1 attacks on the charge or the relic blade so he has 4 S 6 attacks at I 5 on the charge.

I don't know what to take on my Captain that would best suit him.

Cheers,
Old Sledgeaxe

Relic Blade. You'll want the high initiative killing power to save the TH/SS termies from an inglorious death via rifle butt bludgeoning.

What RustyKnight said.

Relic: doesn't waste the decent initiative and you already have lots of thunderhammers with the Ass Termies.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

Thanx for that, i just wanted to clear up that as i couldn't decide which was the better option.

1 other thing, wat should the ratio of TH/SS to TLC be in the Ass. Termi squad, 5 TH/SS, 3 TH/SS - 2TLC, etc

i've had good luck with 2x claws + 3x hammers myself... though sometimes I use 1x claw + 4x hammers if I know i'm facing more monstrous creatures in the enemy list.

I usually roll with 5x TH/SS, using them for taking down MCs and really tough units as they are survivable enough for that sort of work.
