Ok so this came up in a battle report.

Do the Chainfists that an ironclad can get go at I4 which is what a DCCW goes at, OR does it cause the Dreds initive to become 1 which goes against what i think

Does anyone know?

Is GWAR out there?

Why do you think the Dreadnougt would strike at normal I score even when using a chain or indeed power fist ? They don't have any rule, in this edition anyway, that permits them to do so.

Remember the DCCW is "merely" a powerweapon that also doubles the wielders S score in CC, it's not a powerfist .

Like what reds8n has said.
They have no rule that allows them to ignore the restrictions of a chainfist going at I1.

Just because something else seems to be similar doesn't mean the rules encompass another similar (but different) weapon.

And like I said in the bat rep, !RAWG ( ) isn't gonna be on for some time.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

AFAIK chainfists strike at I1 no matter what they are moounted on. A DCCW is different in that it makes the Dreadnought S10 and it strikes at initiative.

Thus giving chainfists to a dreadnought = fail in most cases and wasting points.

Isn't it a bit redundant anyway, as Dreads CCW is already at S 10? I realize you would like to grab that 2d6, but unless you are specifically targeting vehicles, it's quite a loss for your CC capabilities.

I said the same thing in the bat rep, heh.

The only thing a chainfist Dread is gonna need that chainfist is vs. a Land Raider (CF does nothing vs. a Monolith)...and even then the Hammer is better for the +1 result...str 10 is really nice enough.

The chainfist on the Ironclad is really there to help bust open bunkers, buildings etc etc, the bonus 2 d6 penetration almost guarantees this.

You could probably use the chainfist part & just say it's a DCCW. DCCW are very general as to what they actually look like.

Trade rules: lower rep trades ships 1st. - I ship within 2 business days, if it will be longer I will contact you & explain. - I will NOT lie on customs forms, it's a felony, do not ask me to mark sales as "gifts". Free shipping applies to contiguous US states.

Question asked and answered.

As for the other topic, it isn't really appropriate for 'open' discussion.
