While building the new Hellhound kit I came across a mystery part which has no use on the model. The only place it could fit is on the front armour but even then it looks odd, and it is not mentioned anywhere on the instructions.

This is a size comparison of the piece to an Assassin

Can someone please tell me what this is?

Thanks,

Valk

Which sprue was it on? If it was on the 'Hellhound' sprue, then I don't know. If it was on the 'Chimera' sprue, then it's a universal piece that is likely to be used with other kits like the Basilisk.

The original Chimera had a similar piece that was never used with the Chimera, but was with the Basilisk and Griffon.

Yeh it's on the Chimera sprue. When I saw it on there I thought "Whoopy, the other tanks can't be too far away".

The piece was on the new Hellhound sprue. The only thing I imagine it could be is part of a new vehicle thats still in development, and is an upgraded version of the Hellhound kit, as there it looks easy to convert any of the IG Artillery pieces or even a Deathstrike from the Hellhound chassis.

The same piece came with my Chimera. So far I'm thinking of using it to make a barricade or cutting it up to put a gunshield on my Russ.

Like H.B.M.C. said it is only used for the basilisk and griffon vehicles. It is never used for a chimera. Used it for what you wish. I've used them for many things, even have a couple in a bits boxes.

Combining 2 of them standing on end makes a good fire-shield for infantry cover, what with the gun slit and all
