I had an hilarious idea for an ork list I'm going to try at my LGS next week that I felt the need to share;

HQ
- Mad dok Grotsnik

- Mad Mek Lootagit
(KFF, Pow. Klaw, 'Eavy armour, Cybork Body)

Elite
- Lootas (10)

Troops
- Bare bones Dread (There was 85 points left over, had to field something)
(2 Big Shootas)

- Sluggas (30)
(3 rokkits, Nob w/ power klaw)

- Sluggas (30)
(3 rokkits, Nob w/ power klaw)

- Shootas (30)
(3 Big Shootas, Nob w/ power klaw)

- Yoof Brigade (30) (These are all the tiny 2nd ed orks, heh heh)
(Nob w/power klaw)

- Grotz (30+3)
(3 slaverz)

Heavy Support

- Killa Kanz (3)
(3 Rokkitz)

- Killa Kanz (3)
(3 Grotzookaz)

- Killa Kanz (3)
(3 Big Shootaz)

This is exactly 2500 pts.

The strategy is this, run the grots as a screen in front of a long bunch of boyz with the KFF mek in the back (relatively central) with one of the boyz. Grotsnik joins the grots (that's right) and within' 6" of the KFF the grots then have 5+ and 4+ saves (same odds of saving as a space marine) The boys all get a 4+ cover save from the grots while the kans just rush up the center in front of the grots, in an effort to control grotsnik's movement (he can't move through friendly units remember) since he can't leave the KFF's 6 " range ideally. This should ensure that (baring flamers) my boys are NEVER in a position where they don't get a 4+ cover save! Also, since the Doc makes his unit fearless, when I rush the grotz into CC, they WILL die, but they WILL NOT flee! Ha ha ha ha ha!

Isn't that great!?

After I try it out a few imes, I may give it a spin at the next tournament.

Anyway, C & C welcome! =)

With orks, even too many is not enough!

Feasting on the souls of unworthy opponents

Looks like a fun list.

Incredibly inefficient, antithetical to quite a few ork requirements, but it looks like fun.

As dash said looks like fun. There are many areas for improvment, but without doing a complete list over haul I will suggest some ways to maximise the list you have now. It will be fun, but not effective.
1. that big mek will be in a big squad of boys, why give him all that gear? When in combat sugest put him at the back so the enemy can't hit him. (only give him the KFF)
2. Mad dok grotsnik is insane and awsome, but ultimatatly not that tacticaly sound.
3. I vote against deff dreads as a whole but if you must take one, then at least give it 2 skorchas instead.
4. Do not give your big squads of boys either rockit launchas of big shootas, they run most of the time and their not really worth the points anyways.
5. Put a Bosspole into each one of those squads, if you listen to nothing else I said, listen to this.
6. I have no idea what a "yoof brigade" is, but I'm pretty sure that you can't use them in 5th eddition.
7. I'd give all your deff dreads grotzookas unless you will be playing against lots of space marines.
8. Since this army is so large you might want to consider either another KFF mek.
9. I'd stick s deff kopta, or several into this list so that you can tie up those obiterators, of devastators, ot heavy weapon teams, whatever, basicaly so you don't get blown to hell.
10. I have nothing else to say but 10 is a much more round number.

Not much to comment on what he already said but I would jsut like to point out the "yoof brigade" is a reg group of boyz just older smaller models (i think)

If that is the case then just slap a bosspole in there and your ready to go. Also I forgot to say this, take 1 grot and one slaver off the squad, it maxisises points.

Damn given this interpretation 70% of my army is 'Yoof' Brigade! lol

"You smell dat? Do you smell dat? Napalm, son. Nofing else in da galaxy smells like dat. I love da smell of napalm in da morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for twelve hours. When it was all over I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' 'ummie body. Da smell, you know dat gasoline smell, da whole hill. Smelled like... victory."

Ha ha ha, deffskullz is correct, there just a fluff name for the smaller, older models. I had forgotten to mention that all my nobz have boss poles... oops.

Deffskullz, it's funny, you're giving me the advice I would give me in this situation, almost to a tee. Heh.

I hate koptas, they always fail for me. For some reason I have really bad luck with them (rolling anyway) and I've yet to have one do anything effective in the many games I've used them, despite their obvious capabilities.

The rokkits on the boyz are something I've been playing with lately, and find them fairly effective so far. I tend to play against ALOT of (chaos)marines and mechanized guard so the rokkits help alot, and for 30 points and the sacrifice of a run roll I get to kill tanks more reliably than with a 45 point kopta that at best, shoots nothing and soaks up some fire.

The KFF mek was only in this particular list to grant a save to the kanz & grots, since they will, in turn grant a 4+ cover to everything behind them. That's why I only need 1.

I also almost never use deff dreads, they're just not worth the points. 3 kans are almost the same price, and are each about as effective. I have 2 anyway and the one with the 2 shootas is much cooler looking than the one with the 2 skorchas. =)

Also, shortly after posting this list, I realized a crippling flaw with my idea... The concept of invincible grots crumbled after I remembered that they have T2... That means that S4 "instant kills" them, thus denying them the FNP save anyway... D'oh... So it would work against... guard hordes... and that's it... oh well, it was a fun idea.

Ya, ratling snipers have a better chance to kill grots with their laspistols then their sniper rifles.
