Guys, what model is this cloak from?
I need to know so I can figure out how big it is, and if it's appropriate on a marine or not.

I agreed with you at first, but it looks like the hand is attached to the cape on this guy, and the way it flows is more dramatically oriented to the model's left than the one on the vampire above, so I don't think it is...

Well, I assume my original picture has the skulls on the exterior, so there's no way of knowing that from a front picture of that mini. Automatically Appended Next Post: http://blog.muschamp.ca/2006/09/29/phantom-of-the-rock-opera/
A-ha!
Looks like, yes, it does fit a marine, at least, though I'm still not sure where it originates other than 'some fantasy range vampire' Automatically Appended Next Post: http://www.coolminiornot.com/80113
This also identifies it as an old Vampire Counts piece, but shows that it fits on a marine too.
I guess it's probably OOP now, anyway.

This model is also only 2 pieces: The body and the right hand with sword. And I know from experience, that hand is a pain in the arse to find if you drop it(mine's been missing since the model was released).

I've got one of those cloaks, I think it is from a Vampire, but I don't recall if it's an old GW fig or if it's Reaper, but I know it's one of those two.

http://www.bastaic.com/wfb/fey/pics/vampire21.jpg Someone showed me this and tells me it's the original model. It's well, well, out of production, and something like 15 years old.
I think I've found out enough about the bit to be satisfied now.

Yep, that's the correct model alright. It is from the original Vlad Von Carstein introduced around the 4th edition Undead book with Nagash on the cover I believe. Very nice model.

It's a simple matter to pin that hand. The same for the corsetted female vamp from mordheim. 0.5mm bit and a short length of paperclip and they stay together fine.

I think I still have that model somewhere under 50lbs of bitz... His face is goofy and he is fist pumping, but for the time it was a good model, haha

I have the model that the cloak belongs too, its the Von Carstein model from ages ago, he has a mssive ring on his left hand, which is posed up in the air, and a cool looking wolf-detailed sword in his right hand.
I still use him with my vampire counts army.

THE HORUS HERESY: Emprah: Hours, go reconquer the galaxy so there can be a new golden age. Horus: But I should be Emprah, bawwwwww! Emprah: Magnus, stop it with the sorcery. Magnus: But I know what's best, bawwwwww! Emprah: Horus, tell Russ to bring Magnus to me because I said so. Horus: Emprah wants you to kill Magnus because he said so. Russ: Fine. Emprah's always right. Plus Ole Red has already been denounced as a traitor and I never liked him anyway. Russ: You're about to die, cyclops! Magnus: O noes! Tzeentch, I choose you! Bawwwww! Russ: Ah well. Now to go kill Horus. Russ: Rowboat, how have you not been doing anything? Guilliman: . . . I've been writing a book. Russ: Sigh. Let's go. Guilliman: And I fought the Word Bearers! Horus: Oh shi--Spess Puppies a'comin? Abbadon: And the Ultramarines, sir. Horus: Who? Anyway, this looks bad. *enter Sanguinis* What are you doing here? Come to join me? Sanguinius: *throws self on Horus's power claws* Alas, I am undone! When you play Castlevania, remember me! *enter Emprah* Emprah: Horus! So my favorite son killed my favorite daughter! Horus: What about the Lion? Emprah: Never liked her. Horus: No one does. Now prepare to die! *mortally wounds Emprah*Emprah: Au contraire, you dick. *kills Horus* Dorn: Okay, now I just plug this into this and . . . okay, it works! Emprah? Hellooooo? Jonson: I did nothing! Guilliman: I did more nothing that you! Jonson: Nuh-uh. I was the most worthless! Guilliman: Have you read my book? Dorn: No one likes that book. Khan: C'mon guys. It's not that bad. Dorn: I guess not. Russ: You all suck. Ima go bring the Emprah back to life.

it's from an older vampire going back to 4th edition WFB. I belive the model was generally used as a stand in for Mannfred Von Carstein back then.

Yes, I know. It fell of the table whilst waiting to be pinned, not after being glued on then breaking off...

I still use that as a Vampire in my army. The model is a bit smaller than a marine so I don't think it would work too well as a marine cloak.
