Question: Do new, updated rules exist for cypher, the fallen angel? and if so, where might I find them?

The only rules that were around for cypher were in the old Chaos book years and years ago back in 3rd edition. There haven't since, that I know of, been any updates to him. He is no longer a legal character...he went away with doomrider.

Pat that askala, O-H-I hate this stupid state

He is lost with the squats. Yeah the only rules for him were in the last codex as previously stated. If you were wondering which one it has a big ugly face on it.

That's a strictly unofficial Lost & The Damned Codex that has rules for him, if you really want to use him. I tend to use it a lot at my flgs to change things up as it was developed for a tournament and seems to be fairly balanced. Keep in mind it is only for unofficial use.

Incidentally, our club is planning an Apocalypse/Planetstrike game for next month with a Dark Angel theme. Cypher will be included as a major antagonist. We just have to check and tweak the cost/rules for 5th. Unfortunately I just found out that my copy of the old dex is archived so deep I can´t find it. So would someone be so kind as to help a fellow gamer and PM me a summary of Cyphers stats, points and gear.

EDIT: Problem solved. Club mate found his copy of the old article.

Incorrect. There were rules for Cypher during 4th ed. They were released in White Dwarf when they were still doing the Heroes and Villains of the 41st Millenium series of articles.

honestly, why not use him as is? IIRC he's 160+ points without an invulnerable save. the rules say he rapid fires both his pistols if he stays still (not sure anymore) or just fires both if he moves. i'd say just use him as is. if anything, he's probably overcosted for a model whose special "ability" is to double fire a plasma pistol and boltpistol at the same time.

In the rules I found he's got a 3+ invuln, his pistols are treated as assault 2 & he may fire both, has the C'tan phase sword, preffered enemy Vs. DA, has eternal warrior and relentless. While it's true they upped him to 200 Pts I feel the updated rules are more then worth it.

i think those are the BOLS ones they published a few weeks ago. while nice, they're totally unofficial. at least the ones i mentioned were official once... a long time ago!

In his last incarnation he lost the c'tan phase KNIFE (not sword), instead gaining the ability to use his plasma pistol as a power weapon in cc (he never lost the ability to fire both in the shooting phase).

He carries a broken sword that he never uses.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
