I recently got a building for warhammer 40k - the citadel, I painted it up pretty and had some extra peices, I used an old gatorade cap for the base and put a large square tile onto the base. Then an ork boy is staring down a a mangled up spacemarine's body with a ork sword and pole flag through it. What would you rate this or . it will be my diorama ever so please add any hints of suggestions to the small diorama. It is about 2x2 inches with 1 and 2/3 bodies on it. I will probably be posting the finished product in January because Im leaving home for the christmas break.

Dioramas (too me) depend completely on how much character you can pack intot he model ie the faces look it (for the ork) and the background conveys a theme almost as if its a straight shot from a movie

Flow. Diorama's gotta have movement in it. Best one I ever saw was at a toy store in Singapore. It was a diorama of Cloud and Sephiroth from FF7: Advent Children. Had one of them diving at the other whilst free-falling and the city around them was collapsing. Amazing dynamic flow to it, showed real motion.

There also has to be balance to make for a good diorama. There should be some sort of story so that when the viewer looks at it as a trapped moment in time they can either deduce what has just happened or what is likely to happen. In the OP's dio, the tower might overshadow the fight between the Marine and Ork.
For example, it the Ork was at the top of the tower looking down at the dead marine and there was a lot of battle damage or evidence of a melee on top of the tower, the viewer might figure out that the ORk has just pushed the Marine off of the tower. If say, the marine was at the bottom of the tower alive standing there and the Ork was perched on the top like he is about to pounce on the Marine, then the viewer would figure out the rest of the story.
In the OP's dio, the tower might overshadow the fight between the Marine and Ork.

it is really small and by the way Ii have no experience painting orks of any kind so it might not be the best, remember i also said it was my first diorama for warhammer, ever. Plus, i have no greenstuff or whatever that apoxy putty stuff is.
