We will be his hammer, our fury the anvil and using these tools together we will fall upon the enemy with zeal and show them the error of their ways, we will demonstrate first hand that they are not beyond his reach, and we will make sure that they feel his furious touch.
My brothers we go forth unto battle and it will be glorious in his name we will smite the tau we will make them wish they had never set foot inside the imperium and we will drive them before our bolters and our chainswords running back to cower at their masters feet whereupon we will fall on them yet again with fury and earn glory for ourselves.

OK, dreadnoughts may attract fire, but MY GOD DO THEY LOOK COOL! If I'm wielding ranged weapons (as my hypothetical dreadnought self) then I'm likely to last longer, as with Venerable status...
