Apologies for no pics of late. Been suffering with man flu (still am- goddamn mucusy coughing). Was a real struggle just to assemble 10 fething models at the weekend: WHFB Beastmen Un-Gor Raiders- see Children of Chaos Blog.

Nah- wasn't really flu. Just a cold I think. I've had flu and it's not pleasant!

I usually just get the 24-48 hour stomach flu. Crap coming out both ends but no headache and not much of a fever.

Only the squad leader can take haywire grenades now (that's Bloodbrides AND Wych squads) instead of a full squad of em packing haywire grenades. So basically your squad is fethed vs armoured vehicles over AV10 if you lose the Hekatrix or Syren.

Well pretty much in general. They go from making 5 grenade attacks to one, well that's just silly.

Fortunately I haven't played 40k in a good long while and probably won't be returning.

Best of luck with your Dark Eldar though, sounds like you're having a lot of fun with them

New day, new update. Some Astartes goodness for you all. Deathwing Knight WIP and Tac Marine experiment. with highlighting.

Quick advice request- how the hell do you do the studs on these guys without making a bloody mess of it?

Looking good! As for the studs, I tend to use the brush side-on almost parallell with the surface so I can keep it away from the leg/pad but still hit the studs.

Of course, you could just paint them as you normally would and touch up the bone-white, that's probably simpler!

Yeah all I've every figured out to do is just be extra careful, do the sniper half a breath out thing, and hope I don't mess them up Also I can do a brief check to see if my hands are fairly steady or jittery beyond the norm, in the second case I stick to basecoating another model or something

Looking like a good start, the dark angle is of a suitably dark green, no mistaking him for a salamander no sir, and the knight is coming along nicely.

I like the border you put on the neck-cloth for the terminator, though I can't help but see it as a bit of an ascot

I think it's supposed to be a tabard. For some reason the Mk VI "Corvus" heads strike me as a bit psychotic looking.

Beakies are awesome. A tad creepy, yes, but awesome.

I was never a big fan of the beakie helmets, I always sold mine out of the boxes, my marines may be jerks but they are never peckerheads

Lol.

I don't have any left either, I had a buddy making all/mostly jump troops force and he was a bit crazy for the beakies. They do look kind of disturbing on actual classic armor. Like what's up with this guy, kind of puts you off a bit. Not as cool as the ogre/oni masks samurai might wear, but still kind of a mind game to play.

I find I can never decide on the beakies. I'd never use them on anyone high-ranking for some reason, it's generally either the Mk3 flat plate or the Mk7 normal helmet for them, but on other models, I find they can really add to the sense of aggression and direction by adding another 'point bit'*

*technical term for a part that draws the eye in a certain direction, usually combined with others in the same facing to accentuate effect. Possibly the most useful thing I ever learned from White Dwarf...

I may do a beaky with a winged helmet using the bits from the DA Veteran kit. Would look extra Aquila-y like that lol.

If I ever make any more space marines, I've got those bunny/feather wing hat things, I thought a unit of 5 of those would make for a pretty epic vets/honorguard kind of unit. maybe all of them DW power weapons just because

I am actually doing a Company Command like that. Using these heads...

On a further note, you may remember I got the Necron giant centipede of doom a while ago. I'm considering putting that bad boy together, but the question is- pin the body together or just superglue it? I'd have thought superglue is enough for resin on resin, but I'm concerned about it breaking if posed in a particular way. Also, the legs being resin and all, would I be making a rod for my own back if I have him rearing up to murder something?

Those wings look new, and maybe half the size of the ones I have. Still look pretty sweet, especially with the newer design of beaky helmet.

Can't help you on the resin, foreign territory for me.

Yeah that's a fairly new model- Ravenwing Company Champion from the Ravenwing Command kit. With added twin plasma guns! They have an alternate build for Black Knights which are basically Ravenwing company veterans. Oh and they're all packing the twin plasma guns on their bikes as well as a sweet stasis grenade launcher upgrade.

Yeah I picked up the codex when it came out, I just never really got around to playing games with them. I already had a lot of models so I didn't heavily research the new ones which is why I missed out on knowing which that one was.

Just a small update today as sadly, Royal Fail didn't manage to get my Dark Angels gubbinz delivered to me before the weekend. Anyhoo. I had a mooch around on the Element Games site and picked myself up some more paints for the various projects I have going currently, as well as getting myself some MDF paint racks from TrollTrader- both excellent shops and pretty slick on delivery times!
I caved and went to GW for my Dark Angels gubbinz. Bad I know, but some eBay sellers were REALLY fething kicking you in the nuts for models that are so easy to come by. Plastic models DO NOT cost that much to post!!

Bought myself 2 Rhinos as my 5th Company is embarrassingly slow to get to the front lines at the moment. I also went in for one of those Nephilim fighters. Much nicer looking than the Stormtalons and not quite so cluttered. I may magnetize it to kit it out as a Dark Talon but I'm not overly fond of the weapons it has (Hurricane bolters and a rift cannon..meh) with exception to the Stasis Bomb which could be fun, and very useful against Tyranids.

Ok what magical trick do you know that lets you update your own post without it just appending it?

Cool paint rack.

Deathwing terminator is definitely solid, gotta love the occasional ''venture in my direction, brethren'' pose
