Hello peoples,

I've been half-flirting with 40k for the better part of a decade, but always constrained by the issue of resources. I've collected and painted a few squads, but never made a serious investment of time. In the very near future, I shall acquire disposable income of sufficient depth to allow me to really buy into the hobby. I'm looking to collect an eldar army.

All that being good news, I can't go completely crazy and buy everything in sight, so I need to make some preliminary decisions about what to buy. I'd like to build an effective army of about 2000ish points. I've read the articles in the tactics and profile sections. They have been very helpful. I was wondering if I could solicit the advice of the community on what works, what doesn't etc. This goes for general advice, as well as eldar specific information. Even if you aren't an eldar player, I want to hear from you. I want to know what eldar units your fear on the table and why.

Dire Avengers and War Walkers ( prefer 3x3 squads! )

I'm an Eldar fan too, but I must admit to being partial to Karandras and his Aspect Warriors!

1. E-bay is your friend for your initial army. The trade forums here would serve you well too - don't buy a whole army new in the box to start.

2. In terms of what to get...head over to the army list section and post what you think you'd like to run, and more importantly, WHAT YOUR GOALS are for that army list. Let people rip it up and tear it apart and put it back together. When you've got something you like....turn that into your initial shopping list.
