Your so lucky. my daughter is turning four and she loves to play 40k... she just needs to equip all the terrain with beds and chairs. Its usally Orks vs. Littlest Pet Shop pets and their vehicle of choice is a pink convertable with eyes, "Oh look one of those stinky orks kidnapped the kitten again." Those LPS's would make a great army, I haven't beat them yet!

Egads, pink! You must intervene before she becomes a worshiper of Slaneesh... (Which has got to be every fathers worst nightmare, I think...)

And don't forget to correctly utilise this eagerness to get involved (before the several years of resenting all that you do and are...) like that guy who got his daughter dipping his tyranid army in washes for him.
He got his whole army done I think, that's practical and quality time!

thats awesome! whenever i sit at the table and turn on my paint light, my little one comes running up and says "daddy, whatcha dooin?" and i say "painting" she then walks over to my case, and points at a random miniature (painted or not) and asks "you paint diss one?"

What I find odd in the pics is the Elmo chair. Viewed out of context it just looks like Elmo is off to the side, just starring in awe at everything around him!

Pure W1N. Letting the little ones paint is a great investment. Even if the paintjob isn't perfect, it's still better than 90% of the armies I play against (which are unpainted). Giving them the idea that they enjoy the hobby at an early age really pays off in the long run. Of course, be sure to use just plastics with the little ones (less dangerous if ingested) and for that matter, make sure your (very) young ones don't swallow any small parts!
If you're afraid of the little ones swallowing small parts, may as well let them paint your APOC Superheavies and Gargantuan Creatures, that's what I say!

I bet she doesn't use a hat-brush quite as well as you do, though.

This thread is great. Whenever I'm painting Guardsmen, my year-and-a-half-old sister wanders into my room, points at them, and excitedly yells, "Dya'dee!" (Russian for "men" - sorry, I don't know how to correctly Latin-ify Cyrillic).
I let her play with them and everyone is happy. When I'm just sitting at my computer she reaches up onto my shelf, grabs my 40k templates and dice, and brings them to me. She especially likes wearing the small blast on her finger.
