OK, now that we have a better idea behind points costs I decided to start looking at what my list may look like. I am trying to refine it enough and include as much of what I already have to make an effective army list. Some of these point costs are lifted from White Dwarf.

I am including all of the rumor information relevant to the list, all points costs are estimated:

-HQ-

Bonesword – Power weapon, enemy suffers Instant Death on failed Ld test
Lash Whip - All enemy units in CC wit this model have I 1
Leech Essence: Range 18”, target unit receives D3 S3 Ap2, Tyrant regains one wound for every lost wound caused this way
Dominate: Hive tyrant's synapse range is 18” for one round
Ancient enemy: All Tyranid units within 6 have Preferred Enemy USR

20 Termagaunts = 100

-Heavy Support-

Trygon Alpha = 250

WS6 BS4 S6 T6 W6 I4 A6 LD8 Sv3+ Type: MC
- Fleet like Hormagaunts(ie 3d6, pick highest)
- may deep strike and leaves behind a tunnel through which other units may come from Reserves
- may NOT charge the turn he deep strikes
- Synapse, Shadow in the Warp and Ld10
- Bio electric field 18" S6 Ap- Assault 12

Carnifex w/ Scything Talons, Twin-linked Devourers , Bioplasma = 190

Carnifex w/ Scything Talons, Twin-linked Devourers , Bioplasma = 190

- re-rolls 1s in CC
- MC Devourers - 18" S6 Ap- Assault 6
- Bioplasma 12" S7 Ap2 Assault 1 blast

Total Cost = 2000

Total Kill Points = 13

Shooting potential at 18":

15 str. 5 shots at BS3
12 str. 6 twin-linked shots at BS3
12 str. 6 shots that can pop up behind armor
8 str. 8 shots that ignore LOS
2 str, 10 shots that lance, but need to test
1 str. 6 blast with -1 to vehicle penetration
1 str. 9 blast with -1 to vehicle penetration

The army basically stacks to provide cover saves. With Gaunts out front, and Warriors giving MCs Cover saves. Gaunts spread out so assault armies have to deal with them if they want to get to things beyond them. Trygon shows up behind Russ squadrons or on top of Rune Priest. The whole army is designed to stun vehicles to prevent them from at least shooting before they face the terrible tyranid assault. Nobz will still be an issue as I have nothing that can take them out if they precision strike. I could probably tear them down in CC if I combo charge with everything but Carnifexes. Ideally, I would try and pop them out of a battle wagon and put a whole lot og shots on them to overwhelm their saves.

Current Armies: Blood Angels, Imperial Guard (40k), Skorne, Retribution (Warmachine), Vampire Counts (Fantasy)

I guess the new Nids will be played differently,
basically in pods giving the enemy one round of shooting.
