I'm a big H. P. Lovecraft fan. He is the patron saint of death metal lyrics.
And as a public service, it's spelled Cthulhu!!! NOT Kutulu.

Wish I had the time to go back and retranslate my Pliny the Younger's letters so I could be as academic as Jeb.

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do |

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made. |

Aw man, I loved that book. I actually ended up staying up all night for three nights sleep (Utterly destroying my natural sleep cycle) to finish reading it...damn, it has a dramatic twist near the end.
Anyways, I'm currently working my way through the Horus Heresy novels before Christmas (I have the next two on my list - Mechanicum and Tales of Heresy) though I'm not going to get anywhere close to finished. I'm about a quarter of the way through Fulgrim, and I keep getting distracted. False Gods and Galaxy in Flames were purely awesome, though, and I strongly recommend giving at least the introductory trilogy a read (Horus Rising, False Gods, and Galaxy in Flames).

We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

Horus Rising. Its my first 40k novel so I figured it would be a good one to start with. Its weird because Abaddon is such a cool guy! Garviel Loken is pretty cool too.

Of course, as an American, that means I must say that soccer sucks, and football (real football... you know, the one where you do everything with your hands) is 10,000 times as good. I mean, football players could probably beat up soccer players, even, because they actually know sports.
