I have searched the internet and I've come across a site that is advertising the new 40k movie http://ultramarinesthemovie.com/. Does anybody else know more about this movie. Like if there are any trailers yet, what the story is gonna be about (obviously its about ultramarines, but what is the story line)?

I believe there's a whole discussion thread in News & Rumors.

Also, there are (AFAIK) no trailers or nuggets of info about the movie other than that Dan Abnett is writing, and the name of the director (Who I can't recall ATM).

Yeah the site doesn't show the director but it does say who the producer is, his name is Bob Thompson.

Basically, no one knows nothing, other than the fact that there is going to be a SM movie.

Actually it probably is gonna be a really good movie. Also what do you mean by 'our game'. A warhammer 40k movie would be awesome. So I dont know what you're talking about.

Was never released, GW threatened legal action if it was. so sadly only the trailer made it to the light of day.

As for how good this movie will be, its staring at least one ultra marien. lets hope it moves onto a better chapter, or death watch. as ultra mariens are my very least favorite chapter background wise.

i belive it was called Sword of damocles, it was a fan made movie staring an inqusitor, at least 1 tech preist and a few otheres. as i said only the trailer was released becasue of GW saying 'shut it down' (it was also to be released in german language.) its old hat, like 6 to 7 years ago. but from what was shown it wasnt going to be to bad. i would have loved to watch it.

Inquisitor? It's on YouTube, in english. It's about Dark Angels and an Inquisitor fighting Chaos Marines in some freaky building or something.

The Chaos Lord in it doesn't look half bad either.

I just watched it...for a fan made thing not to shabby.

From an outside point of view...terrible haha. Did you watch the extra bits video? Those genestealers and orks remind me of the dinos in the Mario Brothers movie

I just watched that inquisitor movie on youtube. The costumes were pretty decent but the special affects weren't. With the special affects and crazy stuff we have now imagine what the new movie is gonna be like

the Ultramarines movie is CG and made in London. Not Actors and Hollywood. And thank the F**king God-Emprah for that. I'd rather not have 40K's first real feature-length movie be butchered and raped by having Van Damme, The Rock, and Stallone playing Marines, while Keeanu Reeves is the reclusive, quiet, monotone Inquisitor. EUUUUGH. I'm going to live in utter fear of such a film from now on.


The film everyone is referring to is called "Damnatus". It's in German, but you can pretty much understand the plot just by watching. The costumes are -extremely- well done for a fanflick too.

Inquisitor movie was made on a 2000$ budget IIRC.

Yep. Most of the backgrounds are just greenscreens

They play it at Gamesdays sometimes.

I went looking for clips for Damnatus on youtube after reading it here... the whole movie is on some guy's playlist, not providing a link in case GW legal is skulking about, but look hard enough and you'll find the whole film with English subs

Is it any good. Also how long is it.

The movie is roughly an hour and a half (Just under, I believe - it's in 9 minute chunks, so I rounded). It looks to be pretty well-made, so far, though I just started watching it.

Incidentally, the full title is "Damnatus - The Enemy Within"

I started watching that fan made one. Its really well done for a fan made movie. You guys were right.
