As the title states, and it just doesn't have to be people here on Dakka, although an explanation for non Dakka people cited would be good.
What the issue of agreement is would also be good to know.

Nick Griffon, a first class spanker and someone I hate, did actually raise a point in the recent Question Time program on which he appeared that made me nod. Baroness Warsi, a prominent Muslim and member of the House of Lords was also on the panel and like the rest of the panel had quite rightly vilified and berated Griffon.
But Griffon then asked how she was able to lambast him on the show for being prejudice against 'non-indigenous peoples' and yet she belongs to a religion that is extremely prejudiced against homosexuals and subjugates women the world over.
I actually agreed with him that it was hypocritical of her, of course it was swept over fairly rapidly but for that moment I conceded his point.
I have been an active protester against fascism in the UK since my late teens, the idea of agreeing with Griffon is like Ghazghul T deciding to buy Ol man Yarrick a pint.
Once that point was past however, I was back to wanting to do him an injury.

Whilst Islam and all religions are homophobic and subjugate women, Nick Griffin is also a sexist and a homophobe, he has no right to speak out against Islams homophobia and sexism when he is the same.

You will be suprised who you will disagree and agree with here if you stick to your logical paradigm.
One of the nice things about the discussions here on Dakka Off Topic is that noone appears sufficiently trollish that they will always disagree with someone simply because of extant disagreements.
Thus because I am very outspoken annd others are too I find mysef alternastely strongly disagreeing with some people on topics close to their ideology, then finding myself in agreement with them about something else, even when the topics are no less controversial or political.
Its happens every week and I have no idea who I will end up agreeing with next. I agree with Frazzie from time to time, and even agreed with Gwar! only yesterday.
Outside of Dakka we can probably all find quotes fro rather disagreeable figures that we can agree with, even though from a different standpoint. Stalin has some great quotes.

I admit to being wrong on occasion. I just love it when I'm right and people still try to poke holes in my stories (and no I'm not talking just dakka though it does happen on here as well).
A few days ago I found myself in agreement with Shuma over Tyranid stuff based on the newest rumors; I think also something to do with GW's practices or something. Goddamn but I needed a drink after that.

Even you can't be wrong about everything. If you were you wouldn't still be alive. So it's pretty logical you'll trip up, be right, and agree with me at some point.
Ok give one example of a religion that treats heterosexual and homosexual relationships with equal worth....
I want to say Shinto Buddhism. I also don't think Confucianism talks on the subject much at all. The greek and roman state religions (before christianity) were quite tolerant, likely the egyptian polytheistic tradition too. Many indigenous north and south american religious traditions were as well.

Treating homosexual relationships as less important than heterosexual ones is not tacit to homophobia.
There are also ways to derive tolerance for homosexuality from most religious texts; amusingly the Qu'ran is particularly open in this regard. That doesn't even go into the fact that very few people keep to an absolutely rigid interpretation of any given holy text. Its perfectly feasible for a given individual to be religious, while completely ignoring some component that others believe to be foundational with respect to the faith.

Yeah, what kind of logic is that.
I'm not homophobic but I don't agree gay couples should get married.
Being against gay marriage does not make someone anti-gay or a homophobe.

I'm reading it that it takes a bs reason to think being anti-gay marriage means being a homophobe. That is how I feel. I'm against gay marriage but I'm not a homophobe.
Homophobe =/= being anti-gay.
Shuma will have to clear it up but I'm reading what I think I am.
