Courtesy of TGN, this is a new mini from Reaper, one of their Bathalions, which all previously have looked like Mind Flayers. However, this might make a good substitute for the GW Venomthrope if you don't like it but like the rules. I don't know how they relate size-wise, I think it might be somewhat smaller.

It's......interesting. Honestly not sure what to think. The head is cool, but either it's the photo, or the body is a bit crap. The shoulders seem to sprout from nowhere, but otherwise an interesting piece. But like I said, could be the photo.

There weren't any rear pics, so that will have to remain a mystery. I personally like the very 'nid-like scything talons and the serpentine body.

This seems to be a similar beastie with different arms. Pretty cool, but the lower body is a tad small for my liking. The head seems to be a seperate piece though. Would be interesting as a head for an Alpha Warrior or maybe even Death Leaper.

That sculpt looks so much better with paint on it - kudos to the painter That said it isn't bad, and certainly hydralisky. Funnily I would never have connected this Bathalion-hydralisk with the Bathalion-manflayers they have kicking around. A tentacle face does not a relation make

I agree the body seems a little too dinky for it. Not sure if it needs to be fatter, longer or a bit of both.

But yeah, a nice piece ultimately.

Here's a 2010 challenge for you MDG. You have post a positive post about a non GW figure without sliding in a 'but...' negative side comment.

No way!

MDG has seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. He's watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate.

(But to be positive about a non-GW product? Never!)

Well, heres a challenge to almost everyone on this website....

Try to judge a non GW figure in its own right, without thinking how you can make it "work" for a GW game!!

Now that, will be difficult

It's not quite the same sculpt, but what looks like an earlier model in the same rough lineage.

I did so in this very thread. And I'm not the only one who mentioned that whilst a nice sculpt, there is something about it that is somehow not quite right. And indeed, I limited my criticism by saying it could just be the composition of the photo. But hey, you got to have someone to rag on haven't you?

He's in there, but there are around 50 other guys that put that cthulhu guy in shame.

I really dig those chroneoscope guys.

Look at that new SGT ROCK looking guy, Those Terminator robots, and those other neat looking odds and... ends... (Hey, I'm looking at you you little french maid!)

The large looking earth elemental, the krackin, and the large cthulhu are maybe my favorite in the bunch.

Looks like a Hydralisk with a Tyranid head.

Nothing special.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.
